Sound Color FX - Pitch timing issue

  • Device model (Ipad Pro M5 11”):
  • Version of operating system (iOS 26.5):
  • Version of djay (5.6.5):
  • Hardware/controllers used (Pioneer FLX-10):
  • Hardware firmware version (v1.14):

A) SUMMARY OF ISSUE:

  • When using the Color FX “Pitch”, it will delay the active track by 20-40ms. enough to audibly hear that they are out of sync. This makes it totally unusable

B) DETAILED STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Get 2 tracks playing on each deck

  2. Align them perfectly with each other

  3. Activate Pitch color FX

  4. Turn the Color FX knob one one of the tracks

  5. Hear how out of time with each other they now are.

C) EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • pitch changes but the tracks stay in sync.

D) ACTUAL RESULTS:

  • pitch changes and the track using the color FX goes out of sync (20-40ms)

Hi @TomThePirate, thanks for the video and details about your setup - this is very helpful! I’ve shared this with our hardware engineers to see if they can reproduce it on their end as well. I’ll report back when I hear back…

This pitch effect is a tricky one. It was just updated to fix a more harsh version of this. Hope the engineering team patches it up soon! Thanks

Would LOVE it if we could configure our colour fx ourselves. “Noise” is always a bit too wet and there is no adjustment.

i really miss having “sweep”, would swap pitch for sweep any day of the week!
