  • Version of operating system : 17.6.1
  • Version of djay 5.2.4
  • Hardware/controllers used DDJ rev 5

Summary of the issue:
When Dj’n the past few nights at live gigs I notice a very annoying distortion when transitioning to the next song. I don’t have or have been using crossfader effects and it is not on. The distortion is to the point where I can’t use DJay at a life event.

How to reproduce the issue:
It happens almost every other song. Just transitioning to the next song…… I’m either scratching or blending. The distortion last a good 5 to 7 seconds.
I mostly use tidal and also music stored locally on my iPad. I use playlist i created within djay.

Hi @Five-0, thanks for the details about your setup and the issue. To help me accurately communicate this to engineering so they can try to reproduce it, can you please capture a video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here?

Can you please also share screenshots of your djay Settings>Sound?
Thanks!

Is this a new feature. Save and restore manually set gain values?
Because It was set to on. I just turned it off and testing now so far so good

This feature has been around for a while now…

I think this is my problem. I might have songs volumes turned up…… I may have never noticed it before but the rev 5 sound card is much hotter than any thing else that i use. I’ll leave it off for my gig tonight and confirm if that’s the issue

Excellent. Hopefully this solves it. Looking forward to hearing back on the results tomorrow.

I still have issues. Not as much but the distortion/sound quality still happens on transitions

Thanks for the follow up @Five-0. To help me accurately communicate this to engineering so they can try to reproduce it, can you please capture a video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here?

Ok thank you. I’ll get to it as soon as I can

You’re welcome @Five-0

Hello! It’s been more than a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
