Getting this bug when opening my spotify in DjayPro. Just the error appears in the file window.
I presume this error is happening because I have thousands of Spotify playlists, but we’re DJs… that’s what we do.

Hi @BrandonBosch, a 504 error often stems from a stalled API session, especially with high playlist counts overwhelming the initial sync. Please try the following:
- Force a Spotify re-authentication:
a. In djay Pro, go to the top menu bar and select Library>Log Out of Spotify.
b. Then quit djay and reboot your Mac.
c. Reopen djay, log back into Spotify, and wait a few minutes for the initial sync.
d. Instead of browsing all playlists, use the search bar in djay’s Spotify window to pull up a specific playlist (e.g., “Hard Techno”).
- If that doesn’t work, verify that Spotify’s servers are responding normally outside of djay.
a. Open the Spotify desktop app or web player (open.spotify.com) and try loading a large playlist or navigating your library.
b. If it’s slow or errors out, Spotify’s servers might be temporarily overloaded—wait 10-15 minutes and retry in djay.
I hope that helps!
Hello! It’s been more than a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
Sorry, I missed your reply. I tried this and it did not work. I’m getting the same error. Gateway timed out 504
Hi @BrandonBosch, do you experience this same issue if accessing Spotify from a web browser or standalone Spotify App on the same device?

No, I use Spotify all day long. I’m a DJ and it’s how I accumulate playlists from clients. It works on the spotify app and mobile, just fine. Only Algoriddim isn’t working.
I’ve tried all of those things. Should I reinstall the app?
Hi @BrandonBosch, thanks for confirming. Yes, I suggest that you backup your djay Media Library database and any custom MIDI mappings, then uninstall djay, reboot your device, and reinstall the latest version of djay.
You can find the files above in the following locations:
- iOS: using the Files App, navigate to Locations->On My iPhone/iPad->djay->User Data
- macOS: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912211-Where-does-djay-Pro-store-playlists-cue-points-and-other-data-on-my-Mac
- Windows: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912131-Where-does-djay-Pro-store-cue-points-and-other-metadata
- Copy the files to a new location or external drive before uninstalling djay. After reinstallation, you can simply copy these files back to their original locations to maintain your Hot Cues, Saved Loops, My Collection Playlists, History and Queue.
So I just copy the folders listed in the macOS link there and then reinstall, then drag them back to the same spot?
Yes, just follow the instructions I posted above
