'Standalone-like' DJ controller for iPad mini?

I recently looked into the Numark iDJ Pro and that thought that the concept was very cool! It was amazing that you could have a ‘standalone-like’ experience with a way more powerful device and software. I was immensely disappointed when I found out that this had been discontinued years ago. It would be nice if these types of controllers were revived.

Here are the features I want in this controller:

  • This controller should have a horizontal slot for the iPad mini. The iPad mini is a very powerful tablet but with a surprisingly small form factor. Integrating the iPad mini into the controller via a horizontal slot gives users a standalone-like experience with the combination of powerful hardware and software. One thing to note is that I want the iPad mini to lie flush with the surface of the controller. This is mainly because I don’t want the iPad being flung out while I’m DJ-ing.
  • The controller should have four channels for more flexibility with mixing, transitioning, live mashups, etc. Each controller should have its own paddle triggers for FXs giving DJs more flexibility for accenting tracks.
  • This is more of a personal preference but I want the controller to have a mirrored layout like the Reloop Mixon 8 Pro.

Here’s a (bad) mockup of my ideal iPad mini controller:

Algoriddim, if you’re listening, please convince whatever company to collaborate on the potentially revolutionary controller!

It’s not just the mirrored layout that’s a personal preference … Overall, though, that would be a nice idea - but I’d actually prefer the look of something like a Denon DJ SC Live 4 or even the Denon DJ Prime 2 - just without a built-in screen, but with the option to dock an iPad (preferably an 11-inch model).

Thanks for the suggestion @Nguy_n_Nam. I’ve passed this onto the team.

Personally, I’d prefer something that doesn’t lock me into an iPad mini as I prefer the larger iPad Pro 13 screen.

I think you can use the Apple Vision Pro or the Apple smart glasses with display (whenever that comes out) to mirror the iPad mini screen onto a larger canvas.

AVPro uses a different version of djay and currently doesn’t support external DJ hardware.
