STAR rating and Date Added sorting to IOS pls

Color coding is not a filter or sort option on Djay for iOS.

I prefer to DJ straight from my music in iTunes, since my smart playlists are all there. This is what I do with Traktor.

Of course, I have to first add all the tracks from iTunes/Music to my Collection/Library.

The benefit of DJing from Djay (iOS) Collection seems to be more library columns and sorting options… though notably, neither rating OR color are available on iOS.

Just one point of clarification about this request:

I’m not asking to alter or edit the star ratings on Djay for iOS… just view and sort by star ratings.

I get it… implementing editing of star ratings is not possible.

Yes, I understood that, but thanks for clarifying @skymakai

What am I being pushy about? I don’t need an answer that this is being looked at… I have already gotten a reply from Slak Jaw and understand there won’t be any answer.

That’s great that you checked it out and a couple years later it had improved to meet your needs. AND, we’re on a 4 year old thread right now, about something as straightforward as showing and sorting by BPM or Key.
So, I’m here to say, ā€œhey, why is this still a topic to talk about?.. can we get this added already?ā€

don’t think I’m being pushy towards Slak Jaw or Algoriddim. I’m arguing that this is an important feature, to yours and other’s arguments that it’s not and to just find a workaround.

I could just say, ā€œplease and thank youā€ and go away to later come back in a year or two to see if it’s been added. I certainly would have if others hadn’t argued that my request was ā€œa minor inconvenienceā€.

@daniel_curley You do make a good point though… while in the Collection (not iTunes library view) you can filter by rating. Thank you!

Same and I understand. I used to work for Apple. So, I understand that there’s a pipeline from user feedback to engineers.
One thing I learned about that pipeline is that if there’s an issue and it doesn’t get repeated user feedback, it gets ignored. But also, if only one user is reporting an issue, it’s most likely a user problem.
I know it’s not the latter, which is why it’s frustrating to have others argue that this is a ā€œminor inconvenienceā€ and not as important (or easily implemented) as showing BPM or Key.

At the end of the day, that’s their opinion. And scrolling through the ā€œsuggestionsā€ thread I’m seeing lots of other suggestions that have a lot more votes than this thread. Not saying your request or workflow is insignificant, but just from a pragmatic perspective, it looks like others may not see this as big of an issue therefore it’s not getting votes/attention compared to other suggestions that affect a larger percentage of the user base.

Either way homie, it looks like you found a solution. Hopefully it works for you in the meantime.
