one deck playing with stereo channel on the headphone connector and the other deck playing stereo on the usb sound card via apple usb lightning adapter or Camera Connection Kit ! no need for cross in application for that routing mode, no need for split cable! in another word no mono sound with split cable. true stereo and pro dj use with ipad and any external mixer for djay app. There are so many cheap usb cards and hardware mixers with builtin soundcards with usb conn. why still use mono split routing via headphone jack if you want mix with external mixer ?

in second answer you have MONO output with split cable to external mixer. i don’t have problem if you don’t want to implement this feature, but you can say it and ok. in above combinations i repeat you cant use external sound card and external mixer or external mixer with usb sound card implemnet in it.
