I have a question about the sync button behavior, it seems, on this app, all it does it sync the BPM, it does not seem to sync the beat grids, such as in Traktor DJ, and it does not start the song in Sync to the beat grid like Cross DJ does, so what is the correct use for sync songs?
Start the song, and hit the sync button as many times as it takes the beat grid to match since hitting it moves it a half beat each time?
And is it it the same using the APP standalone and with the iDJ Pro?
Hi Jerod,
The sync feature in djay is a one-time action as compared to a “beat-locking mode”. This means, that the BPM and the beat grids only get synced once. If the beat grids are “off-phase”, you can hit the sync button again.
If the songs start to drift apart, you can use the pitch-bend buttons to readjust.
By the way, the sync feature is the same with the iDJ Pro.
I personally really like that it is a “one-time action” and NOT a beat-locking feature.
I swear there are a ton of would-be controller DJs, but Serato and Traktor have too many features to switch from Vinyl/CDs.
The closer djay behaves to 2 vinyl turntables and a UREI 1620/Bozak mixer (with an isolator) the better.
