Title: Sync Issue Between Decks When Using Internal Mode on One Side //
Deck B (Internal Mode) does not follow the pitch change when Deck A is WIR or REL

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently noticed something in DJay Pro 5 and wanted to check if this is expected behavior or if there’s a workaround.

Here’s the situation:

I have Deck A (left) connected to a turntable or Phase (in DVS mode) (I only have 1 Turntable), and Deck B (right) is set to Internal Mode. Sync is enabled on both decks.

Now, if I load a 120 BPM track on Deck A and a 128 BPM track on Deck B, Sync adjusts both to, say, 122 BPM — so far, so good.

However, when I start the mix and try to adjust the pitch on Deck A (since I only have one turntable connected), the BPM of Deck A changes as expected, but Deck B (Internal Mode) does not follow the pitch change — it stays locked at the previous BPM. This breaks the synchronization during the transition.

I understand that when Sync is enabled, adjusting the pitch on the currently playing deck usually affects both decks and adjusting the pitch on the other deck will break the sync.

In my case, however, the crossfader is centered and both volume faders are up, meaning both tracks are actively playing — yet only the DVS deck responds to pitch changes, while the deck in Internal Mode does not follow.

Interestingly, if both decks are in DVS or WIR mode (turntable or Phase), everything works as expected — (as long as I’m adjusting the pitch on the currently playing deck) pulls the other along due to Sync.

Crossfader is in the center the whole time, so both decks are active in the mix.

Is this a limitation when combining DVS with Internal Mode? Or am I missing a setting that would make the Internal deck follow the pitch changes from the DVS deck?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best,

Essa

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share a workaround I found that helps with this issue.

In the MIDI setup, I assigned a knob (specifically the Sampler Volume knob on my DJM-S7 mixer) to control the Tempo of Deck 2, which is the deck running in Internal Mode.

Deck A is my turntable (DVS), and Deck B is set to Internal.

Now, when I activate Sync and turn the assigned knob, both BPMs adjust together, because Sync is linked to Deck 2 and treats Deck 1 (DVS) like a slave controller.

This way, I don’t have to touch the pitch fader on my turntable anymore — it stays at 0, and I can control the tempo of both decks using the knob.

That said, it would be great to see an update in the future that allows the internal mode pitch to follow the BPM change of the DVS deck during transitions — especially when the crossfader is centered and both decks are actively playing.

For example:

Deck A = 85 BPM (DVS)

Deck B = 85 BPM (Internal Mode)

I raise the pitch on the turntable to 90 BPM → Internal Mode deck should follow → currently, it doesn’t → transition gets thrown off.

So for now, the MIDI knob assignment solves it for me — but I’d love to see native support for this behavior during synced transitions.

Best regards,

Essa
