Thanks for the additional input @EQnox
Iām in the same exact boat. Why is some data allowed to be synced but not playlists? Why is onelibrary data able to be accessed via thumb drive but not through iCloud?
When I say technical/political I mean Apple blockers.
Through iCloud some data is allowed to be synced but not playlists. If playlist data can be shared through onelibrary through a thumb drive but not iCloud Iām guessing it could be an issue with apple
Just speculating, but I assume that OneLibrary was designed this way by AlphaTheta/Pioneer to promote the use of usb drives and thus their own hardware/players.
That said, if you could export a playlist to a OneLibrary folder on iCloud (and then read by DJAY on an iPad), that would limit the amount of steps for me. Not having to go through the usb drive.
There is nothing that Apple blocks with that workflow. You can already use an iCloud folder for your tracks. I used that before. The only thing missing was playlists.
I assume the āpoliticalā blocker would be AlphaTheta/Pioneer. But this is all speculation though.
I would greatly welcome exporting a playlist to a OneLibrary folder on iCloud.
Since the request to be able to sync djay pro plays lists has been made years ago, this approach seems like it would be an obvious solution that someone would have to have already thought of especially since iCloud is used to already sync some data.
iPads can read files that are stored in iCloud, why canāt djay pro read a onelibrary file thatās stored in iCloud?
Id consider paying extra for this type of functionality.
Good to see people are actually hyped about having a library you can access across multiple devices. Thatās a big deal for DJsāideas donāt always hit when youāre sitting at your setup. You could be parked somewhere, hear something in your head, pull out your phone, build a quick idea or crate, and then pick it right back up at home.
I just hope this doesnāt turn into a complete overhaul of the software on the backend. It sounds like something the company has probably been thinking about for a while, but now itās finally getting pushed up the priority list. At the same time, Iām not expecting it overnightāthis kind of feature needs to be done right, and that takes time.
