Tempo Match Only feature

Request for a Tempo Match Only feature that allows quick tempo matching without activating the Sync feature. Sometimes the song beatgrid gets shifted in djay Pro unexpectedly which will cause a poor transition or blending if using the available Sync option. It will also save DJs time and embarassment during a show trying to manually match tempo while the playing song has 5 to 10 seconds remaining therefore catching us by surprise. That happens mostly when DJs get distracted or interrupted by people in the crowd requesting their favorite song, equipment failure or interacting with host or event staff.

Hi @djshiny, we already have a BPM Only Sync type instead of BPM and Beats. Is this what you’re talking about?

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!

That’s not what I’m talking about. The BPM Only Sync feature doesn’t do the trick and technique because it activates and holds the Sync therefore complicating the process of quick blending/fading/mashing up different tracks of different BPM within seconds. This also requires several steps of pressing and depressing the Sync button when tempo matching is not needed during the blending/mashup performance. Just imagine a DJ wanna blend 10 tracks of different BPM ranging from 90 to 130 without manually using incremental BPM adjustments but random tracks loading. The Tempo Match Only feature that I requested will match the tempo of the track with a quick flashing of the Sync button for feedback purposes but will not stay activated similar to how the FX lever operates on the Pioneer DJM-S5/7/9/11 series mixers when pressed downward ON position. The BPM Only activates and locks the tempo match by default while the Tempo Match Only feature will simply match the tempo of that particular track but will not activate and lock the Sync button. Remember when Serato Scratch Live introduced the Sync feature that’s exactly how it was implemented. The feature allowed quick tempo match of a track while eliminating the tedious manual process of adjusting the tempo slider both in an emergency and creative performance situations.

Thanks for the follow up and additional explanation @djshiny. Can you please share a short video of how this works in other software? I want to ensure I communicate this accurately to our dev team. Thanks!
