Implement an ios type text magnifier on the tempo slider with long press to fine tune the bmp. Use similar type functionality of delay in it’s appearance and disappearance. Have a slide scale appear with plus and minus .1 bmp increments with five in each direction. In other words, you can quickly fine tune the bpm by .5 of one beat with every long press of the temp slider.
