The Next Beat by Tiësto SX1 — no native MIDI mapping in djay

Hi everyone,

I have The Next Beat by Tiësto SX1 controller and am trying to use it with djay Pro on Mac and iOS. The controller is connected and recognized as a MIDI device, but djay shows no mapping at all — every control is unassigned, so I’d need to map everything manually via MIDI Learn.

From what I can tell, this is expected: the SX1 model wasn’t given native djay support (unlike the LX1, which bundles djay with a working default mapping). The SX1 ships with VirtualDJ LE instead.

Before I go through the work of capturing every MIDI note/CC value by hand and mapping ~20+ controls one by one, I wanted to check:

  • Has anyone here already built a .djayMidiMapping file for the SX1 (Mac or iOS) that they’d be willing to share?

  • Or, if anyone already has the raw MIDI note/CC values for the SX1’s controls (even a partial list — transport, jog, EQ, FX, loop, crossfader, etc.), that would save me from re-doing work that’s already been done.

I saw there’s already a Mixxx mapping for this same controller, so I know at least some reverse-engineering has happened elsewhere — just hoping someone’s done the djay side too.

Hi @PanRuft, welcome to the Community! Have you checked the DJ TechTools MIDI Mapping page?

If that doesn’t help, maybe you can modify the XML file for the LX1 to save you some mapping time.
