The Windows version of the program does not save cue points or remembers the old point

The Windows version of the program does not save cue points or remember the old cue point.

Instructions:
“5.11 Cue points
In djay Pro for Windows, you can save up to eight cue points per track. These cue points
can be created on the fly or prepared in advance and saved in the collection database.”

The instructions do not mention synchronization with icloud, tidal, etc. accounts
The instructions do not mention performing the action of removing the track from the deck
The instructions do not mention performing the action of saving
The instructions do not include any other methods that have already been mentioned on this forum - please do not duplicate posts and links that are supposed to solve the problem.

The above problem has been reported for a long time and I hope that the manufacturer will take steps to make the program function as reliably as possible, in accordance with the description in the instructions and any video tutorials.

As a suggestion, I can propose implementing the save function in the cue and loop section, etc. in the form of an icon, the user will be sure that after re-editing and saving, they will have files ready for use regardless of external services, the Internet, etc.

  • Device model PC computer
  • Version of operating system Windows 10 64bit
  • Version of djay 5.2.1 … new

I decided to quickly take a look at the “METADATA” directory while working.

location
Track analysis data:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\59BEBC1A.djay_e3tqh12mt5rj6\LocalCache\Local\Algoriddim\djay

directories are created after reloading songs in decks, but I noticed loss - deleting directories by your program

working from 13:29 to 15:20 and after restarting the program, several directories and several overwritten ones disappeared

work from 15:20 to 17:14 and sutation as before

17:40 to 17:46 the program creates directories but the situation is the same again

18:01 and I notice that the program does not add directories but replaces them, probably losing data

every time the songs lose cues and loops, not all at once but my work from around 13:29 disappeared and the songs are without tags

Hi @Artur_Fomienko, I’m a bit confused about what your issue(s) is/are. Can you please discuss them one at a time?

djay Pro for Windows does support adding 8 hot cues per track and these are automatically saved to the track. Please note however, that this information is stored locally on your Windows laptop and does not automatically sync with other devices via the cloud. You can however, manually copy this information from one Windows device to another. If you would like to know where djay stores this info on Windows, I can share that with you.

To help clarify your issue, can you please try to capture a short video of it, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!

Hello, the problem is that the program does not remember hot cue points. I know that this problem has already been reported but not solved. In the last post I attached a screenshot of the place where the program stores this data so you do not have to share this information with me. I wrote down my observations regarding the creation of the record while working with the program and the progressive disappearance of previously created hot cue points and loops.

I do not see the need to record a movie because this problem is not an isolated case and you have already received quite a few such movies.

From my observations it appears that the software saves data when the song in the deck changes, when I change e.g. 100 songs, a hundred directories are not created but the directories are overwritten with data and the degradation of information about my points begins, etc.
I moved copies of the directories to another folder knowing what the state of the points in my songs is and I had a comparison to what is created in the original location - files are overwritten with new data and directories are replaced with others.
Playing with the program becomes a Sisyphean task.

Hi @Artur_Fomienko,

  1. Please refer to the linked FAQ article below for the proper location of the djayMediaLibrary database which includes the saved Hot Cues and Loops.
  2. As stated there, Hot Cues are stored in the djayMediaLibrary in %HOMEPATH%\Music\djay.
  3. What you have been looking at is the Metadata directory containing track analysis data (e.g. beat grids and waveforms). No Hot Cue information is stored there.
  4. The issue where Hot Cues are not stored could be caused by a permissions issue with the djay Media Library. You could try deleting this file so that djay recreates the database.

Hi Slak_Jaw

The djayMediaLibrary library in the %HOMEPATH%\Music\djay location has already been checked by me several times. I copied and restored files and here I can restore the state after closing the program, but there is something else that affects this error and in the first posts I indicated something that may help you locate the cause.

Regarding the library, everything is ok until the program is closed. After reopening, a new version with the current timestamp is created. I upload a tagged track and either there is nothing or I only have part of it or there is the complete set of my work - it is randomly in the tracks. I start playing the track several times, my hot cues appear, etc. I close it and I have the same situation as in a loop. (to maintain the data I have to load each one and click playback after loading)

When I load songs to decks and do not start playback, the program saves the data that appears on the screen, I checked by restarting (restoring etc.) and when I press play, it does not restore the information as I wrote the interval above. And so with each opening and closing the information is degraded to the state that is displayed on the screen - after a dozen or so openings and closings I have almost zero state, you can say for sure - when I go to a party with friends I do not have what I prepared - a total failure.

Thanks for the additional info @Artur_Fomienko, but I don’t think we clearly understand your issue. A video would really help in this situation to clarify what you are describing so that our engineering team can investigate further and offer additional assistance. Can you please try to capture a short video of it, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions , then share a link to the video here? Thanks!
