Track not available - Files Source

  • Device model iPad Pro 13" M4
  • Version of operating system 18.3.2
  • Version of djay 5.2.9
  • Hardware/controllers used none

I keep getting a notice that “the track cannot be played because it is not available” I transferred all my music files from my MacBook to my iPad Pro via Samsung solid state drive, the transfer to my files in the iPad was successful, the issue comes up when it’s time to load a track into a deck inside Djay pro that’s when I get the notice, please note that the songs are grayed out. but interesting considering not all songs do this, and they are all MP3s so I don’t understand the inconsistency. someone please help. thank you.

Furthermore, why don’t my folders appear in the files tab on Djay pro? The only thing that appears is “Linked files” shouldn’t there be all the music folders that I added to it?

Hi @Djgusgus, thanks for the details about your setup and the issue - this is very helpful! Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue.

  1. Did you actually copy the mp3 files to your iPad or are you playing them from the Samsung external drive?
  2. Are you trying to play the songs from the Files Source or from the My Collection Source?
  3. Regarding the Folders, did you use the Add Folder feature for 1 main folder containing several sub folders or did you Add Folder for each individual folder?
  4. Can you please try to capture a short video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!
  1. yes I actually transferred all my folders onto files in my iPad. they are still there after I unplug the SSD
  2. I would like to use the files source since I wouldn’t have to create folders in my collection but my collection is the only way im able to import them into Djay pro
  3. so I added one main folder with sub folders.
  4. I wouldn’t be able to upload a video as I don’t have google drive or know how to do all of that, that would take me a bit to learn that process. is there a simpler way? can I iMessage you by chance?

Hi @Djgusgus, thanks for the additional info. This is very helpful. Instead of a video, could you please share some screenshots? Thanks!

ok I took the time to learn how to utilize my google drive and figured out how to share a link! here are three videos explaining everything.
