iPad Pro 3 12.9 (latency too bad to use - turned off Bluetooth
OSX
Reloop flux DVS
The track plays fine by itself when opening program. Calibration says that it’s not recognising the vinyl but it does (Serato) iPad iOS latency is horrible but osx is ok.
The biggest problem I have no is that is always plays way too fast and I have to -16x the pitch just go get it around +2%.
Why does it start so fast? I can’t seem to fix this and I need to use it later!
Anyone else had this ?
Hi @nicholasrage, welcome to the Community! Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Since this sounds repeatable, can you please capture and share a short video of the issue to help clarify what’s happening? Thanks!
It seems to be playing at the correct speed now but it keeps cutting out sometimes and starting where it left off.
I’ll keep playing with it… I was more annoyed earlier than I am now. It seems to be behaving for the moment.
I have same issue here is the screenshot I have original Final Scratch Stanton FS2 time code records and Final Scratch MK2 records. All play too fast and give error on the calibration but the scope is showing ok signal. There has to be a bug or something
Thanks for the update @nicholasrage. If the issue returns, please share a video to clarify. Thanks!
Hi @FILMTOOLS, welcome to the Community! Please provide specific details about your setup** not just “iPad” or “Latest Version”.
Device Model (ex. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
Version of operating system (ex. iOS 17.3.1):
Version of djay (ex. 5.1.3):
Hardware/controllers used (ex. Reloop Ready):
Hardware Firmware Version (ex. 2.7):
Please also capture and share a short video of the issue. Thanks!
Also, can you please confirm what kHz your timecode records use? djay only supports 1kHz timecode signals so perhaps this is the issue. It’s possible that your timecode records are 2kHz.
DjayPRO version 5.4.4
Mac Book Pro M1 running Tahoe 26.0.1
Audio 10 from Native Instruments via Xone 92 mk2 mixer
Timecode records: TRAKTOR SCRATCH Control Vinyl MK2, Standard FS Record from legacy Stanton Final Scratch 2.
I have found this using google AI but I am not sure if its true
Traktor DVS timecode records use a 2 kHz (2000 Hz) frequency, which is an audio signal consisting of two sine waves. This is a higher frequency than some other DVS systems, like Serato, which use 1 kHz, and it allows for a more accurate response.
- Frequency: The signal uses a carrier frequency of 2 kHz.
- Purpose: This audio signal is encoded onto the vinyl record and is used by the Traktor software to track the exact position and movement of the physical record.
- Benefit: The higher frequency of 2 kHz provides a higher resolution, leading to a more accurate and stable tracking experience for the DJ.
Thanks for the additional info @FILMTOOLS. This is likely the problem. djay only supports 1kHz timecode.
Ok so what I found that my old Standard FS Record from back in the day it was the first DVS system from Stanton and NI it used 1kHz but still it does not work correctly on DjayPRO for some reason. New records from NI use 2kHz when they split away from Stanton.
It would be great if you can implement all systems so we can use all types of timecode.
Stanton Final Scratch (FS1 & FS2)
- Timecode frequency: 1 kHz (same as Serato)
- Details:
- The original Final Scratch 1 (by Stanton + N2IT, using the ScratchAmp) used a 1 kHz sine wave with a unique encoded pattern for direction and absolute position.
- Final Scratch 2 (FS2), which was the last version before Stanton’s system was absorbed into Native Instruments’ Traktor Scratch, used essentially the same 1 kHz timecode system, but with a different calibration profile.
- When NI took over, they redesigned the timecode system to the 2 kHz Traktor standard, so Traktor Scratch timecode is not compatible with old FS vinyl.
Can you confirm that the Serato vinyl works with it? Also does it work with the Serato Performance-Serie Vinyl?
- Performance Series
- Size: 12"
- The proven Serato NoiseMap Control Signal
- Remastered and 6 dB louder than previous control vinyls
The Serato Control Vinyl 2.5 performance vinyl features our re-mastered Serato NoiseMap™ Control Tone that is 6db louder than earlier pressings, allowing for precise tracking, better vinyl wear and the most authentic feeling digital vinyl experience on the market.
Ah har, this could be it. I tried the Traktor vinyl first and it didn’t
work but it must have retained the info and gone a bit bonkers. It’s
working now with Serato vinyls, I updated the OSX operating system which
has refreshed it and it’s back to using 1kz Serato.
This probably doesn’t fix the massive latency on the iPad, any ideas how to
get round that?

Excellent! Thanks for confirming @nicholasrage
Hi @FILMTOOLS, Serato vinyl uses 1kHz timecode so it should work.
Good detective work guys
