Track with CUE points don't load from Spotify

Device: Notebook LG GRAM 17" i7 16GB RAM
OS: Windows 11 Pro 24H2
Djay Pro 5.4.4
Controller: DDJ-FLX4 (the isuue also occurs without the controller connected)

Issue:
Loading tracks from Spotify without CUE points work correctly, but when CUE points are added and 2 tracks are loaded quickly on the same deck, the track don’t load and if you try to load other tracks it no longer works.

To reproduce the issue:

  1. Load one track from Spotify that already has CUE points on the deck 1
  2. Quickly load another track from Spotify that already has CUE points on the same deck

Yes I have experienced the same issue without the FLX4 connected.
The video was made without any controller connected.
I have also tried on another PC and the issue is the same.

Thanks for the additional info @IvanC. I was unable to replicate this on my setup.

  1. Can you please try logging out of Spotify inside of djay on all of your devices?
  2. Please also log out of any other Spotify standalone apps or browsers.
  3. Then close djay, reboot your PC, relaunch djay and only log into Spotify within djay.
  4. Retest and confirm if the issue persists. Thanks!

Hi,

After logging out of Spotify inside of djay on all PCs and on all other devices, the issue persists.

I have done some more tests:

  • By connecting the laptop to the internet via an RJ-45 cable instead of Wifi, the issue disappears. The tracks always load, although they take up to 10 seconds to do so.
  • Inside of djay I have Spotify quality set to very high, lowering the quality to normal reduces the loading time to about 5 seconds.
  • This only happens on tracks that have CUE points. On tracks without CUE points, there is no noticiable difference in loading time when changing the quality (tracks load instantly).
  • All the track loading speed tests were done with a network cable connection. I have also checked the actual speed of my wifi on the laptop and it’s around 640Mbps.

Thanks for the additional info @IvanC. With Spotify Quality set to Very High, I was able to reproduce the issue. I have passed this onto our engineering team for further review. In the meantime, I recommend setting your quality to Normal. I’ll report back when I have more news.
