Tracks lose sync when looping

mac 2.3ghz 8 core
sonama 14.3.1
djay pro 5.2.9

One of the features I was most impressed about djay pro when i first used it is when you auto-sync two tracks and one or both tracks have a loop ON it stays locked. Recently the problem started a couple of versions before 5.2.9 and still exist.
I noticed when you have two tracks auto-synced they are locked perfectly but when you make a loop on one or both of the decks they fall out of sync, even when the same section is locked perfectly when none of the tracks have any loops ON.

For example if i don’t have any loops engaged and deck 1 is playing bar 1-4 , it will auto-sync perfectly to deck 2, but if i engage a loop at bar 1-4 on deck 1, deck 1 is now out of sync with deck 2. The sections that are out of sync (when loop is ON in either deck) are the same section that play perfectly in sync when the decks have loop OFF.

If deck 1 has an 8 bar loop ON it will either slighty drift or be out of sync to deck 2 but as soon as i disengage the loop on deck 1 (before it loops around) it snaps perfectly locked to deck 2.

Before of course a few tracks behaved this way but lately about 80% of any track(mostly old funk tracks but the grid lines look perfectly snapped to transients) that has loop ON will be out of auto-sync with the other deck.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks!

Hi @Donn, sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Thanks for the details about your setup and the issue. Since this sounds repeatable, can you please try to capture a short video of the issue, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!

I’ve noticed this too on ios.
Ipad pro m4
djay 5.2.9
The beats won’t lock with a loop engaged but fall into place once the loop is deactivated

Thanks for the video @daniel_curley. This is very helpful. Can you please confirm if those songs are set to Dynamic or Straight BPM? If they are set to Dynamic, can you please try changing them to Straight to see if that solves this sync alignment issue? Thanks!

Switching to straight solves the alignment problem but it has skewed the beat grid on track 1 (non electronic real drummer)

here’s a video. Thanks!

Thanks for the videos @daniel_curley and @Donn. This is very helpful. I will share this all with our engineering team and get back to you as soon as I can.

just chiming in to mention I’ve also been seeing this happen. I know yall got it under control, but wanted to share.

Thanks for sharing @thedrummingdj
