I underwent a tidy up of my folders on Mac and organised my music better. as a result some folders needed relinking in djaypro. but a a lot of tracks will not play from playlists now. I can drop tracks straight from finder onto the play deck and it’ll play fine. I can manually locate it through the ‘my files’ tab with the new links. but if I move the same track to a playlist it wont play. it says ‘could not load track - no such file or directory’. this happens if I move the track from my files within DJP to a my collection playlist or even if I drop the playing track from the active deck to a playlist.
relinking folders to find missing tracks doesn’t seem to help.refreshing library doesn’t fix it either.
Hi @connjam, welcome to the Community! Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Thanks for the details about your setup and the issue - this is very helpful! Please try the following:
- First, I recommend that you backup your djayMediaLibrary database:
a. On macOS it can be found in ~/Music>djay.
b. Copy this file to a folder in your iCloud Drive or to an external drive.
- You’ve tried a basic refresh, but let’s go deeper—this scans for path mismatches across the entire collection.
a. Quit djay completely and reboot your Mac.
b. Relaunch djay and immediately go to the menu bar: Library > Relink Missing Files in My Collection.
c. If it says “no missing files,” proceed anyway, as it can still force-update internal references
d. djay will prompt you to select folders or files; point it to your reorganized music directories.
e. Once done, go to Library > Refresh My Library (or right-click your collection and select Refresh).
f. Retest with some of the problematic tracks from before and let me know if that helps.
