Traktor external app reading

Hi all
Not sure if this is a bug or not ….
Just updated to the latest Mac version and excited to
See external app playlist reading as this is pretty much the only thing stopping me jumping ship from traktor full time now as I’ve years of playlists….. but

In traktor they call old history playlists “ archive “ and have their own group. So when you try and read them from the native folder ( which to confuse things is called history) you can only select x1 file not the whole folder so can only see one playlist at a time.

To see all playlists you have to add the collection from the native folder which works but then only shows playlists made not the history of previous sets.

To get around this you can in traktor add an archive playlist ( history ) and change to a playlist which works but you can only do this one at a time which when you have hundreds would take for ever.

Is there a way to just utilise the “ archive “ ( history folder ) and add more than just one playlist as they seem to work.

Hope that make sense. So close to dumping traktor but just need all my old history playlists ( archives ).

Thanks
Wayne

Hi @Wayne_Clark, to help clarify things, could you please record a short video talking us through what you want? If the playlists you need are in the NML file then it should be relatively easy for us to show them, but we need to know what exactly we are looking for. Thanks!

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!

Hi trying to see a video but it’s too large !
Thanks

In that case, please upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, and share a link to the video here. Thanks!

Hi @Wayne_Clark, please enable sharing permissions on the files so I can download and view it.

Hi thanks
Just change to share so you can view hopefully
Thanks
Wayne

You’ve figured out the answer yourself.

Traktor doesn’t have a function to automatically create a playlist from your archive, or play history.

I feel like it’s wrong to expect that from djay.

I think it’s great that Traktor playlists can now be loaded directly and at high speed.

Thanks @Wayne_Clark, I was able to access the file. However, please do not remove it from your Google Drive. The file size is too large to upload to our internal communications system so our engineering team will need to access it from your Google Drive. Thanks!

Hi @Wayne_Clark, we released an update yesterday that includes some improvements. Can you please update to 5.4.2 and confirm if your issue is resolved? Thanks!

Hi
No it’s exactly the same
Thanks

Okay, thanks for checking @Wayne_Clark

Hi again @Wayne_Clark, could you please upload all of your Traktor NML files to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions then send me a link to them in a DM? This would help evaluate if we can add support for this, as there might be performance issues reading large histories. Thanks!

Hi ….
It seems to me more of an issue that you can’t select the whole history folder ( or when inside the folder select multiples to open at once ) and can only choose one nml file at a time if that makes sense.

When you choose the traktor collection nml you are just selecting one file. As opposed to multiple playlistss that reside in the history folder.

That’s correct. It would still be helpful to get your files to evaluate performance issues with such a large history.
