Does anyone know if it is possible to set the Traktor S3 to midi permanently?
Every time I turn on the macbook I have to unplug the usb and power supply to repeat the procedure
Hi @jenoux,
By any chance do you have the latest versions of macOS, djay, and the latest version of the S3’s firmware installed on the controller itself?
Thanks!
it’s all up to date
djay pro 5.2.4.
Traktor Kontrol S3 firmware 1.0.7
Mac OS Ventura 13.7 Macbook Pro M1
Not sure if this works with the Traktor S3, but worth a try …
Install the Native Instruments Controller Editor software. Part of the installation is a background service that automatically puts my Traktor Z1 into MIDI mode. The background MIDI service will load on login/startup.

Also I’m curious, on the Traktor S3 how are the FX Select / Filter buttons mapped in djay Pro?
it’s not possible!
The S3, as well as the S2 MK3, do have a midi mode but it is an independent MIDI mode that is driven purely from hardware. This means it is not connecting to our controller editor and is therefore not editable, hence why it’s not there.
