Traktor Z2 on Djay Pro Mac

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to figure something out and hope someone here has direct experience.

I use a Traktor Kontrol Z2 mixer and would love to run djay Pro with it on my Mac — controls, faders, knobs, FX, etc. — not just audio.

My current understanding:

  • The Z2 works great with Traktor but appears to require drivers/proprietary support.

  • On iPad, djay can’t see the controls because iOS doesn’t load those drivers.

Before doing anything complicated or assuming it won’t work, I wanted to ask:

Has anyone successfully used a Z2 with djay Pro on macOS, with full control support (not just audio)?

If yes:

  1. Which macOS version are you using?

  2. How is it connected — USB direct? Via a hub? Any adapters?

  3. What controls actually work in djay (faders, EQ, FX, cue, etc.)?

  4. Did you have to install anything (drivers, utilities, mappings)?

  5. What mappings did you use (default? custom MIDI map?)

  6. Any limitations you ran into?

I’m mainly trying to understand the real technical behavior of the Z2 with djay Pro on Mac before exploring hardware/software bridging options.

I think Algoriddim team is not aware how big is Traktor Z2 users database.
