Please, can someone explain how I can transfer hot cues and playlists across iOS devices.

Thanks

Hi @Femidigz, the My Collection playlists, hot cues, saved loops and other metadata are stored in the djay Media Library database file. You simply need to copy this database from one device to the other. Below is the process that I personally follow.

Make sure you close djay on both devices first.

  1. I make regular backups of my Master djay Media Library database to an external drive and to my iCloud drive. This way if I make a mistake or something happens to my device, I can still recover my database.
  2. I also use the Files App and make a Master djay Media Library folder on my iCloud Drive.
  3. Let’s assume that your iPhone has the most up to date Master djay Media Library.
  4. Within the Files App, navigate to On My iPhone>djay>User Data.
  5. Press the 3 blue dots at the top right of the screen, …, choose the Select option in the menu and select the djay Media Library file.
  6. At the bottom of the page select the Folder Icon to Copy the database to the iCloud Drive folder you created in Step 2. If prompted, select the Replace option to overwrite the older database in iCloud. This ensures that the file name stays exactly the same.
  7. Next, open the Files App on your iPad and navigate to the Master djay Media Library folder on your iCloud Drive.
  8. Now use the blue Select command near the top right of the page to select your Master djay Media Library file and choose the blue Move command at the bottom of the page.
  9. In the next window, select On My iPad>djay>User Data then press the blue Copy button at the top right.
  10. When prompted, again choose Replace to overwrite your old database with the new one. It’s important to use the replace option so that the database file name remains exactly the same as this is what djay will be looking for.

I hope that helps!

You’re welcome @Femidigz

Use cloud sync or export import features in your DJ app to transfer hot cues and playlists between iOS devices easily.

Hi @Joy_Walim, please note that iCloud Sync only transfers djay metadata like cue points and loop regions per song. This does not transfer My Collection playlists.
