Besides iCloud Sync, is there any other way of transferring My Playlists from one IOS device to another?
iCloud Sync method isn’t working for me (I suspect maybe because my iCloud storage is full)
Hi @maurizio_T, please note that iCloud syncing only syncs metadata like Hot Cues and Saved Loops. Not playlists created in My Collection.
- To copy My Collection playlists from one device to another you need to copy the djay Media Library database from your “master” device to the other.
- This file can be found using the Files App under On My iPhone/iPad>djay>User Data.
- I recommend that you first backup this file by copying it to a folder in your iCloud.
- Then copy it from this iCloud folder to your other iOS device.

Thanks Slak. I’m using Windows, Where would that file be?
You’re welcome @maurizio_T. Your topic says between iOS devices.
On Windows I think it’s in Music>djay>User Data or something close to that. However, please note that the file type for the djay Media Library database on Windows is differed than on iOS and macOS. So, the above process doesn’t really work between Windows and Apple devices. I’ve had mixed results with changing the file extension so proceed at your own risk…
Thanks again, I tried what I think you described but couldn’t get it to work.
I found on the master iPad in Files/Djay/User data,
I then airdrop it to my other ipad
I find the file that was airdropped on that ipad but when I open that file, Djay opens up and the Error Could Not Load track (OSSStautus error 2003334207) pops up and the playlists haven’t been copied over
I also tried adding the file on windows with itunes sync but that didn’t work either,
I might just create the playlists manually on the other iPad,
I know if I restore that iPad from the master iPad it will work though…
When you copy the file over, make sure you overwrite the file that is already in the folder. Alternatively, after backing up the file to another location, you can delete the file in the destination folder then copy the master file over.
