When I was DJing on Saturday night during a song I was streaming from Tidal, I got logged out of Tidal which stopped and removed the song, thankfully it was last song of the night but it just stopped the music dead. I had no internet issues, and I logged straight back in.

I can’t have this happening at a busy point of the night.

Hi @John_Copley1, Sorry to hear you experienced this issue. Are you able to replicate it or was this a one-time thing? Are there any other details you can think of that might help us to try to reproduce this issue?

I can’r recreate it I don’t think, but I hope it’s a one off thing as I can’t have it happening. Have you come across this before? why would the track just stop? is it a tidal setting?

Okay, thanks for the follow up @John_Copley1. I haven’t some across this. Most likely it was a temporary server issue with the provider. Unless we can reproduce it, it will be difficult to troubleshoot further.

While I completely understand that you don’t want something like this to happen, if it has only happened once so far and not since, I wouldn’t worry about it any further. There could be many reasons for this, and the problem may not necessarily lie with Djay or TIDAL.

I know this doesn’t help you, but I would trust that this was a one-off incident. Ultimately, you can never be 100% sure that such a setup will run flawlessly throughout the entire event; no one can, with any configuration.

As a working DJ who uses tidal at multiple events per week I recommend always having a few songs stored on your computer for such emergencies when using streaming services. Any number of situations could arise that can affect the performance. Having a track ready to go in an instant is essential for the rare occasions of a glitch or hiccup.

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!

This happened again to my friend yesterday who uses the the same setup as me. That means it’s not an isolated incident and I’m sure you’ll get more people coming over with the same issue soon.

I understand having songs ready as backup but that doesn’t account for a song stopping dead and silent in a random place.

Thanks for sharing @John_Copley1. We have not been able to reproduce this on our end. Have you been able to yet? If so, please share the detailed steps so we can try them on our end. Thanks!

A song will stop dead when it has not fully loaded. You can play a song that is partially loaded and it will continue downloading in the background. I find this acceptable behaviour and better than not playing at all until the track is fully cached. (I like to live on n the edge!) It doesn’t happen when your WiFi is fast enough. I suggest you reduce the quality settings. This allows tracks from Tidal to load faster when the connection is slow. This is what I do in venues with poor network coverage.
