Using an external Mixer with djay

I have a small question about external hardware. Currently I’m using djay 4.0.2 with my traktor audio 2 external device. This makes it easy to pre-cue, but i want to split my output in a mixer (behringer 700). Thus my USB output comes into my traktor device which splits it into two channels. Then i connect these channels to my line 1 and line 2 in my mixer (phone or cd?). But which configuration in the program should i use working with djay software?

Hi Nora,

Go into djay -> Preferences -> Devices and select the audio output connected to your mixer’s left channel as “Main Output”, and the right one as “Pre-Cueing” output.

  • Main Output: Traktor Channel 1/2
  • Pre-Cueing: Traktor Channel 3/4

Move the crossfader in djay all the way to the left. Click on the headphones button at the bottom right corner of the screen and make sure that the Cue-Mix slider is all the way to the left.

Ignoring the crossfader in djay, you can now use your external mixer.
