  • Device model (e.g. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen): Ipad Air 3rd Gen
  • Version of operating system (e.g. macOS 14.4.1): Ipad OS 18.5
  • Version of djay (e.g. 5.1.2): 5.3.2
  • Hardware/controllers used (e.g. Reloop Mixon 8 Pro): Reloop Mixtour Pro

Your question:

I noticed on today instagram reel the layout view on the Ipad is different to what i have.

https://www.instagram.com/stories/algoriddimofficial/3662015135031125983/ (im unable to upload the image, as i can only upload one as a new user.

The one below is my screen.

I would like to have the wave form going across the screen top to bottom like in the first image.

Is there a setting for this, or is this due to hardware limitation of my Ipad, being an older model. If so which models support this view.

Thanks

Hi @Sanjeevan, welcome to the Community! I’ve changed your user permissions so you should be able to upload now.

Hi again @Sanjeevan, can you please confirm if you have an active djay Pro subscription? If so, you can access the view shown in your second image by using Pro Mode.

Yes im on the pro subscription, and using the pro mode

Perfect. @Sanjeevan you also need to have a DJ controller connected and Hardware Mode - 2 Decks enabled.

Finally, you need to expand the Waveforms settings menu and turn Jog wheel ON and set the Waveform Orientation to Vertical.

Awesome got it to work.

Just one more question :

  1. My current Ipad works just fine, but Im looking at upgrading my Ipad, what do you think is the best option shall i go for the latest Air m3, or do you think would need to go for the Ipad Pro.

You’re welcome @Sanjeevan. The M3 iPad Air will run djay very well. You don’t need to go for the iPad Pro. Personally, I always approach hardware upgrading by setting myself a budget and then purchasing the most modern and highest spec’d device within that budget. This usually means that I can get the maximum life out of that device before I need to upgrade again. I hope that helps.

You’re welcome @Sanjeevan. Happy to help!

Will there be any customisation of personal layout in the future ?
As I use an external mixer and k2s I would love to have the beatgrids under the wave forms in the 4 corners in pro mode instead of them being in the middle under one another and do away with the eq,bpm and other clutter that I don’t need as I know what my midi maps are assigned to on my k2s. Just a bit more of a professional feel and appearance and personal preference.
Thanks.

Hi @Daveworzel, if you have a macOS or Windows device, there is a bit more control over the onscreen layout. Also, there’s an existing Suggestion topic below for more layout customization:
