It feels like djay for Meta Quest was just a showcase and not anything algoriddim plans on expanding, but my dream would be instead of these VR worlds, have the entire view be the master output for video files being djd, with AV fx, and crossfader mixing in next video.
An example: I’m playing the music video for Return of the Mack on deck 1, my entire view, is the music video, curved around me slightly (wouldn’t be 360 immersive, but could still be the entirely of your view when facing forward. When I look down, I see my decks or controller and my silly VR hands. When I choose another track (let’s say No Diggity;), I’m able to see a smaller preview of the No Diggity video on deck two, sync, and cue up where I’m starting (ideally use key match and stems too but that’s another wish), and then when I mix in No Diggity with the crossfader, whatever blend effects are assigned, I see on the master feed infront of me.
VR would be an amazing way to have more access to video and AV fx, ideally being able to change blend fx and video fx with more ease to keep the visuals from looking stale. Being able to record out or Livestream this view would be so cool. It would be much more entertaining for an audience to watch because honestly, it seems like a delusional ego-driven DJ fantasy to think that ANYONE wants to watch your silly POV feed of you DJing.
