I don’t use a video output of my system to any publicly-seen screen/video displays, so this might be a strange question: what does appear when playing an audio-only track? is there any output? can we select something (a photo) from a library on our host computers/connected drives/cloud storage?
The reason I ask is I’ve been made aware of theaudiodb.com, which can search for metadata-linked art/lyrics etc from their public database. For people using AppleMusic or Tidal, this could be a neat value-add…if djay devs can use that website’s API…
I have absolutely no idea how current etc that db is, but it’s crowd-sourced, so…there’s hope.
Hi @heysoundude, you can load audio only tracks instead of music videos into the decks when using Video Mode. You can then have one of the built-in visualizers playing as the video output. You can also load Images and apply Text as an Overlay.
Awesome, yes, that’s what I’m pondering on.
is it possible to pull up artist photos/album art using theaudiodb’s API where “choose image” is an option? That would be bomb in certain cases…
or a social media feed, like Insta/X…(I’m thinking so people in a bar setting can insta/tweet song requests that appear on screen…)
Hi @heysoundude, I’m not sure about “theaudiodb’s API”. You’ll probably have to test that out yourself…
yeah, I have to get better at this coding/usage stuff, you’re right.
