HI,
I have just acquired a Hercules Starlight for backup and travelling - which in general, works beautifully with my Algoriddim DJ Pro on my iPad… however…
Although the individual channel volume control knobs move the sliders on the app, neither they, nor the overall master knob, have an effect on the volume meter lights - I am not sure whether this is a glitch, or if it is intended to do that and the lights are simply representative of the input track volume, but some indicator of track or output volume levels would be very good (as the big let down of the Starlight is that it doesn’t have any meters of its own).
Is there a guide to using the Starlight with Algoriddim iOS available anywhere - the default set up generally seems adequate, but I would like to know if I am missing any tricks in particular.
Looking at the Hercules DJControl Starlight images on their website, it looks like this controller does not have any VU Meter LEDs. Are you saying that the VU Meter LEDs in the djay Pro UI are not showing up?
As far as I know, there are no official guides for the Starlight setup with Algoriddim. I did find several YouTube videos for the DJControl Mix which appears to be quite similar to the Starlight. https://youtu.be/lJUBTzH5-Tc?si=x1B7MncqSM--bnsB
Hi,
WRT the volume meter lights, it is doing the same thing on the PC version….
This video shows what I mean……(using the PC version)
First reducing volume using channel volume knob then by using master out….
Neither reduces the volume on the meter or moves the knob at the top of the meter
Thanks for the video @DJ_Dubious. This clarifies things considerably. This is normal and expected behaviour.
The LED meters in djay show the Channel Levels not the Master Output Level. These are independent of the channel fader positions.
These meters show the volume level of the track assuming the channel faders are at maximum. If you adjust the channel Gain or channel EQs you will see these LEDs change.
