The background is that I had quite a few issues recently with the odd one second or so audio hiccups, the cause of it I have never quite figured out.
Support was helpful but since the cause could never really be established, I was very anxious before a 5h gig on Saturday. Luckily all went well, no hiccup or other software issues. Big relief.
Anyhow, this made me think that it would probably be a good idea to have a second app that is compatible with OneLibrary, just in case, when things don’t go quite a well as they should with the primary app.
So my question, what is everybody’s second favorite app? I am leaning towards VirtualDJ but have really not any significant experience with any of the other platforms.
I am thus wondering what others here have to say, given that they are djay pro users also.
Cheers, Chris
Before Djay, I was Serato with Virtual DJ as a backup. But now that I use Djay, mainly because I have the option to also use my iPad, the only real choice for me going forward is Djay and Serato.
If you never use a mobile device, Virtual DJ is absolutely fantastic and the features are really, truly ground breaking.
Serato has always been a solid choice as it’s generally a solid, reliable option, maybe without cutting edge features.
Thanks Bill. I don’t think mobile devices are ever going to be for me, but never say never. I play a lot of old music, so the djay beatgrid was quite important. That said, with OneLibrary that is probably not that important for a second platform. In terms of software, from the limited exposure I had, I would probably order the alternatives as VirtualDJ, Serato, Rekordbox, in that order. Again, based on very limited real experience on the other platforms.
