Hi everyone,
I have a question about loading tracks in djay (iOS/macOS). When I select a track from my library on the MacBook and double-click to load it, it always goes to Deck B (the right deck), even if Deck A is still free
My expectation was that the software would load the track to the first available empty deck, which is usually Deck A.
Why does a track get loaded to Deck B by default?
Is there something that I can change this behavior, so that tracks are loaded to Deck A first?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Good question @DJ_Big_Blender, and one that I don’t have the answer to. Let me check with the team and get back to you…
Hi again @DJ_Big_Blender, can you please provide more details on the situations where this happens? I’m assuming you have the Crossfader in the Center and both channel faders up. Do you have any songs playing or are both decks paused? Do you have Protect Active Deck enabled in the djay Settings?
For me, I’m only able to replicate this with a fresh launch of djay and no tracks loaded to any decks. Thanks!
Most of the time faders are down in these cases. But I don’t think that matters a lot. And yes, I have the crossfader in the middle and decks are not playing.
Here you see my point: Djay > Tracks Load to Deck 2 by default

Got it. Thanks for the additional info @DJ_Big_Blender. I think the team may have figured it out already. Have a look at the latest beta release.
EDIT: This has been fixed in djay 5.4
