I have a XPS13 as laptop which is as expensive as Mac but i’d prefer having more choices for my laptop than ALWAYS having the same look and colors.
The main advantage of MAC is when the USB cable gets disconnected, reconnect it and no crash of the DJ software. On Windows you can forget, still, i prefer having the choice.
I have mixed for years on Traktor + PC + a external mixer and faced no issue.
DJay Pro demo sound really good, closer to the original MP3 than most DJ softwares.
Beatsync really needs to be improved but coming from warm Vestax mixer, Djay Pro is the only that i’ve tested (after testing Blaze DJ, Mixxx 2,VDJ, Serato, Traktor, PCDJ Red,…) which sound nice in my speakers and all my different headsets.
@Deejay Dave, I don’t work with Itunes for my MP3, so an Ipad seems complicated for that. Also, i uses a Controller and mine is not in the list of the Ipad controllers.
So, having this software on a PC could be really awesome.
If not, we need to use a Hackintosh, a bit a shame…
Piracy is unfortunately on both sides, i saw Serato on PC and MAC available on cracked forums. Same for Traktor. I have Serato DJ intro and Traktor licensed.
Now the current price of Djay is so low that i cannot understand not to pay it when you have a 1000€ controller.
Hackintosh is not working, so i will have to wait for a PC version to buy this software
90% market share is not 90% people will buy a Genuine software.
In windows market over than 75% is Pirated software, including the Operation system.
Mac is a bit more expensive, but In the Mac market, people are more willing to pay.
If they really to launch windows version, they will produce a usage growth, but growth does not bring money, estimated 90% people use the djay pro “free version”, then the software quality has dropped dramatically
Really important, otherwise my controller won’t be recognized by Djay Pro at all Only the soundcard part of the controller will be usable without a matching “controllername.djayMidiMapping” file:-) So please make an import/export/midimapping feature…
i am using the andyroid emulator and am able to get djay, however i also have a numark 3 controller, is there any way i can connect this controller up to the emulator/ software?
I almost solved the problem of using djay2 on Windows PC.
The answer is Remix OS, full Android system for PC, it is installed within minutes as the second system in on the same PC, and chosen while booting.
You can download the DJAY2 from the G Play and it works fantastic with controller.
However there is still one large problem with forcing the use of the soundcard in the controller - DDJWEGO3 in my case.
I guess the reason why djay by algoriddim doesn’t do that is because in order to they would have to sign a contract with windows corperation and sometimes other industries get caught in a extended contract and since this is a clear view they have a contract with Apple corp.
I think djay Pro for PC will be bether than those for Ios and android!!!
But i’m missing one thing, verry important for me, and i think verry interesting for many people:
playing from an usb stick: is already possible in one directory
and then make some playlists from the songs in the directory: is not yet possible,
this gives the opportunity to make different usb-sticks and playlists ,based on those songs on the usb-stick. for various performances you can make a general-usb stick and make a playlist for what you need for that specific performance and another playlist from the same songs on that stick for another performance
in this version i can make different folders, but it takes more time to make different folders then to make different playlists.
This would be really useful for me as I am thinking of starting a radio show on Mixcloud, but I’m also think of moving from my old and very tired MacBook Pro to a Windows PC. I’ve tried a number of DJ programs, but DJay is by far the best, plus it seems to be the only one that can play all my music on ITunes. Hope the Beta testing goes well and look forward to seeing DJay finally come to Windows
Where do I place midi mapping configuration files in this Windows version of Djay pro? The “Music/djay/MIDI Mappings” folder doesn’t seem to exist in the windows version… Would make the testing a lot easier.
