Your question/suggestion/feedback:
After about two days of back & forth questions and answers with chatgpt, it suggests I will be able to output stereo to my amplifier whilst also having precue for the next track whilst using the on screen iPad software Djay Pro as controller (I don’t want a hardware controller) by using a Presonus Revelator I/O24.
Hi @Andrew_Hart, there are 2 key requirements for an audio interface to work with iOS and provide stereo headphone cueing and stereo main audio.
You need 4 audio outputs: Left and Right for headphone cueing and Left and Right for main audio output.
a. Looking at the back panel of this device is does have stereo main output and stereo headphone output.
The device needs to be USB Class Compliant. This means it needs to work without the need for specialized drivers since iOS does not support driver installation. According to the user manual, there are drivers to download and install which makes me think this is not suitable for iOS. It’s possible that the drivers are optional, but I recommend that you contact Presonus Support and confirm if this device is USB Class Compliant, will work with iOS devices and does not require driver installation.
Just wanted to add some input for anyone reading this thread - sadly the Presonus revelator io24 does NOT work with iPad. It is recognised but the audio comes out the main and headphones and no matter what combination of in/outputs I selected, I could not get it to work.
I have an M-Audio AIR 192/8 arriving today which I have seen working with DJAY Pro on youtube so fingers crossed it still does. It was more than I wanted to spend but should be a nice bit of kit.
Thanks for your replies Slak_Jaw.
I received the M-Audio AIR 192/8 and can confirm it works. Bit pricey just to get stereo out vs the traktor splitter cable’s mono but it was the only interface solution I had confirmation of working and didn’t want to risk purchasing any more untested options (I spent £59 on the presonus revelator io24 second hand so now I have to sell that!).
