Will DJay Pro for Mac EVER be fixed?

Then i wait for build 19

There are problems with the OSX version of DJay Pro? Hmmm… Haven’t noticed and I have been using it with a Wego 3 since its release.

Did you really say if someone uses spotify at gigs you aren’t a DJ? Thats the dumbest thing I’ve heard someone say.

I have been using Spotify with DJay Pro and DJay 2 for the last year at gigs and have gotten paid $50 - $150 at those gigs. plus I’ve been handed tips that range from $1 - $20 just because I was capable of playing the track they requested. Yes I got $20 to play 1 song… But you know what you are right I am not a DJ at all. DJing is something I do, its not what I am.

you know what I pay $12 a month to be able to access music and to pay that $12 I get paid to DJ. So until someone tells me different I will continue to use the features I pay for. I can also record and broadcast my sets using Spotify and DJay Pro. Anyway I guess its all on how you define personal use.

I personally havent had any major problem with any of Algoriddims DJ software. The VJay app wasn’t really all that amazing but I’ve managed to figure out a few cool uses for it. So far I can say I have used DJay Pro (osx) and DJay 2 more than serato or traktor in the last year. I have 3 dj rigs and I pick my wego 3 and DJay over the other 2 setups when playing out. Even when showing up at a gig with a laptop and connecting 2 CDJ 900s or 2000s I open DJay Pro. The software just works and with the spotify feature makes my sets standout over others who are limited to whats on their drive. If Algoriddim would sponsor me I could help push their software to be considered a major player over the rest.

DJ Magic Moments tends to complain about everything and always thinks that his way of doing things is the only way and nobody else will ever be more professional than him. I have been spinning music since 2000, I have bought my share of music and equipment over the years. I buy music every month plus pay for spotify. I have a large collection of music, some on vinyl and the rest is mostly digital. I currently have 3 different DJ rigs, that are for traktor, serato and DJay Pro. I consider myself a Crowd Control Specialist, not a DJ. I’ve got lighting too for gigs. Plus I can design my own graphics for promotional purpose. I’ve experienced every aspect of the event industry. People like DJ Magic Moments aren’t really DJs either. They couldn’t mix their selves out of a wet paper bag. they normally only play weddings which yeah they might pay well, they are also the lamest type of events to play. I charge a lot for a wedding because I don’t personally like playing them and for me to do it, yes it will cost the person. But the truth is I enjoy spinning music and will play for free at times just because I know that set is going to be just as much fun for me as it will be for the listeners that come out. So yeah calling yourself a professional means you play music for payment only and it probably lacks passion and skill that comes with the art form called DJing. yes djing to me is an art form and requires technical skill. wedding djs don’t have technical skill and most of them will never care to put the effort some of us do into mixing music. I dare any “professional” djs to come at me and say what they do takes skill. I will be happy to show them what they lack. I don’t get paid for the music i play, I get paid for how I play music… there is a difference!

Well i am at breach of the agreement then… because I use DJay and Spotify when playing out all the time and get paid and receive tips also. I also record some of my sets that contain all music from spotify and also broadcast live at times and use tracks from spotify. If I didn’t just tell you I do… Nobody would know the difference honestly. why am I telling you now I do these things they say I shouldn’t. Because its not my job to prevent someone from being able to do them. I play music and its my responsibility to be able to play music and use the the things i have available to my advantage. What makes me standout over the other person playing music?
I like to think its my ability to overcome obstacles and push boundaries…

Exactly how do you know what I do? I actually play out once or twice a week at venues. Yes I use DJ Pro and play tracks off Spotify too… Guess what? I don’t have problems while doing it… I don’t understand why people that complain so much about a piece of software keep using it. I run Serato, Traktor and DJ Pro all the time and they all work. Sure there minor issues that are easy to resolve or just avoid with each of them. To sit and cry over a piece of software daily tells me a lot about a person. There are other options than software to play media from maybe try them out and see if they work better for you. Go back to playing records if technology is to complicated for you. I have 3 different DJ setups I use. But you know like you said I don’t use the software like you… Yeah I don’t because you don’t see me complaining about it. Nope!

I use Spotify and DJ pro at least twice a week for 4-5 hours each night and it work fine for me also… I don’t know what these people do to their computers to cause it to have so many problems.

I don’t mind getting paid for playing tracks off Spotify. Hell if anything I would pay $20 a month for offline playability and internal recording. But for $12 a month access to thousands of songs that I wouldn’t usually have available is awesome. I like to think I don’t get paid for the music I play. I get paid for how I play music. Yes I do get tips at times for being able to drop someone’s favorite track and that is gratuity I receive for playing a song.

Playing off Spotify has introduced me to new music and encouraged me to buy certain tracks that I feel I should have a offline copy of.

But you know what I was one of the first DJs in my circle to go digital with a laptop and I remember people saying that’s not real djing. Today every single one of them use a controller and laptop. Innovative don’t hate…

I walk with my head up high all the time… If you think I should feel less than for using the technology and equipment I pay for to my advantage well I don’t. NOPE! How am I making anything easy for anyone? I’m not even sure what you are talking about. I’ve been collecting music digitally for years, some I’ve paid for and some I didn’t. Who cares, really? I pay my $12 a month and paid for every copy of algoriddims software. I think the software is called DJay Pro. Why make a software to DJ with and include a service like Spotify and not think people aren’t going to use it? DJay pro sounds like it was made specify for professional use to me and to use it and not take advantage of all it’s features is just a waste of money. You should probably go use software that doesn’t have streaming abilities if you aren’t using that feature. Don’t controllers come with a lite copy of something that gives you basic controls? Then use that software. Why bother using anything more? Anyway sounds like we got basic minded folks who probably complain and cry more than they actually play music.

What’s wrong with a wego? It works with iMac MacBook Pro MacBook Air Mac mini and iPhone 6 Plus and iPad mini 3… I also have 2 Numark V7s and a Ecler Nuo 2.0 plus two Denon DN S3000s and a Numark M2… The Wego is for algoriddim software, the v7s are for serato and I use the denons with traktor time code. So please tell me how what you are using doesn’t even work correctly while everything I use seems to run just fine, please mister moments tell me… I can carry everything i need in one bag for a paying gig. But I guess that makes it unprofessional right? Well if so I don’t don’t want to be a pro then because if I wanted to carry heavy bags of stuff to play music with I would still play vinyl.

I hear pluselocker is going to run around $20 a month. I’m down to pay that much as long as I can use the tracks in offline mode and record internally. But if those options aren’t available then I just don’t see the point.

Oh and I suggest before you reply go google some of the equipment I use so you have a vaild statement to post magic mike

You don’t have the ability to read do you? Magic mike I do have music available on my hard drive too. Geez man really? Try reading before responding I have clearly stated multiple times I have a vast digital music collection. Maybe it’s you that doesn’t have a clue. At least I’m not the one who is constantly complaining about software that doesn’t work for them. But you ask what I do when there is no internet, why wouldn’t there be Internet? I have both a iPhone and iPad which have cellular data plans on them plus hotspot. I don’t worry about no internet connection. Lol this guy magic mike just likes to think that everyone is less magical than he is… Yeah yeah we hear how he charges so much for gigs. But plays on software that he has problems with. If you actually make so much money you wouldn’t be using equipment that doesn’t work. I would like to think you wouldn’t, but you are the all knowing professional. Me I’m just a guy who like playing music and just happens to get paid to do what I enjoy doing. You sound like you don’t enjoy what you do magic mike.
