Windows 11 25H2: Choppy Jogwheel Seek and Tempo Adjust

That’s fine.

Thank you for all your help.

I took your advice and removed the Windows update that installed on my PC few days ago and it has actually solved the issue. I’m still concerned however that future windows updates may have the same effect on the software.

Thank you again.

Kind regards

David

You’re welcome @David_Logue. Thanks for confirming that reverting to 24H2 resolved your issue.

Bad news to report on my end. I was able to revert to Windows 24H2 while keeping my data in tact, but unfortunately the problem is persisting despite this. Perhaps I missed some follow-up steps? Any recommendations here?

Edit: I considered the possibility of this being a hardware issue, but the FLX6 worked completely fine when tested on Djay Pro on the iPhone 15; so this isn’t the case.

Thanks for the follow up @slimeking446. Are any of the issues resolved? Or are you still experiencing the jogwheel and tempo fader issues?

Still experiencing both issues.

Thanks for confirming @slimeking446

Hello everyone, we recommend affected users to uninstall all of these Windows Updates:

  • KB5074105
  • KB5077181
  • KB5077241

Your can find these in Settings > Windows Update > Update History > Uninstall Update.

There’s a full description here on the VirtualDJ page: VirtualDJ - VDJPedia - Win11-KB5074105

I’m noticing that the MIDI error in Windows 11 25H2 manifests itself differently depending on the hardware.
I have a Pioneer DDJ-REV 7 with Windows 11 25H2 (ARM version), and the problem I’m getting is with the turntables. The turntables spin at their normal speed, but the audio sounds incredibly slow; the song plays at 20 BPM.

However, on another PC I have, with Windows 11 25H2 x64 and a Ryzen 7 7000 series processor, everything works perfectly; I don’t have any problems. On my Windows 11 ARM PC, which is giving me MIDI problems, I did a clean install. The big problem is that during the Windows installation, all recent updates are automatically installed, but when I go to the updates menu, it says there aren’t any installed.

That’s the main issue.

But I’m confident in Microsoft, because what’s coming will benefit all PC users, both in terms of MIDI and ASIO drivers.

The errors are because they’re implementing MIDI 2.0 in Windows, and every big change involves some initial compromises.

Thanks for sharing @djcanitamix

Hello everyone, here’s another potential workaround:

Restarting the MIDI service:

Exit the application, plug in the device, and restart the MIDI service as described below:

  1. Close all MIDI apps
  2. Open Windows Terminal as an Administrator (“run as administrator”)
  3. Type* net stop midisrv
  4. After that completes, type* net start midisrv
  5. Start up the app you want to use with MIDI

this is the exact issue I’m having with my Rev 5. I noticed it matches the tempo fader resolution of internal mode if you use a mouse to slide the tempo slider on screen. Could this be related somehow? @Slak_Jaw

EDIT - Uninstalling specifically KB5077181 fixed this issue for me completely on my controller, but the onscreen controls with mouse still function at a .4% adjust increment on 25% pitch mode. Maybe this is somehow related in some weird way.

I’ve had the same issue now I just can’t control the software at all

I’ve noticed it says no midi device found

These updates I can’t seem to install anymore

Is there anyway around this issue?

I’m using a Ddj Rev 7

Hi @Terry1983, please refer to this support article and let me know if it helps or not:

I saw that and I followed the steps but the updates can’t be uninstalled now

Thanks for the follow up @Terry1983. Please contact Windows Support for additional assistance on reverting to Windows version 24H2.

ATTENTION / UPDATE:

Microsoft has released a targeted fix specifically for issues with Jogwheel Seek and Fine Tempo. They are planning to roll out this fix to all users in April/May, but have made it available for download/installation as a short-term fix as well (see link below).

Having the same issue with the DJControl Mix Ultra. Windows Device Manger sees the midi controller, but djay software doesn’t detect the controller at all.

Hi again @AllDayAllNight, please try installing the update above as instructed:
