Your question/suggestion/feedback:
Hi all,

I recently connected my Pioneer XDJ-XZ to Djay Pro and followed all the driver installation steps exactly as outlined. I’m running into an issue where the crossfader works, but none of the other controls (EQ knobs, jog wheels, cue/play buttons, etc.) respond in the software.

Here are my specs:

  • Device model: 2021 MacBook Pro M1
  • Operating system: macOS Sequoia 15.3.1
  • Djay version: 5.3.2
  • Hardware: Pioneer XDJ-XZ

I’ve already restarted everything, made sure the driver is installed correctly, and verified that Djay Pro is up to date.

Is there a setting I’m missing (e.g., MIDI mapping or input/output config)?
Any help would be appreciated — I’ve got a gig coming up and would love to get this sorted.

Thanks in advance!

Maybe try external mode.

Hi @Brandon_Huang, welcome to the Community!

  1. @Dysfunk_DJ is correct. The XDJ-XZ is an external mixer device. In the djay Settings>Devices, please ensure you have the Mixer Mode set to External. Please share a screenshot of this page.
  2. Ensure that you are connected to the Computer USB socket on the back of the device (#5 shown below).

    a. Refer to page 128-129 of the XDJ-XZ User Manual to ensure you have properly enabled Computer Mode on the device as well. Pioneer DJ
  3. Please make sure you have also installed the latest XDJ-XZ firmware from the Pioneer DJ website https://www.pioneerdj.com/en/support/software/all-in-one-system/xdj-xz/#firmware-update
