I second getting SoundSwitch support… this would take DjayPro to the next level. This is what stops me from completely switching from VirtualDJ/Serato to Djay Pro.
Welcome to the Community @zoukchata. Thanks for the additional input.
Tried the software. It’s great but an absolute no go to switch to Djay Pro without the Soundswitch integration. I checked on the forum and there are a lot of requests regarding this over the last 5 years. I wonder why it’s still not implemented since even Virtual Dj has full integration these days. I feel like a lot of mobile DJ’s would consider switching to Djay with this functionality. What’s the hold up?![]()
I’m also waiting for this to start using Djay again.
Soundswitch via Ableton link is not really a solution. The whole idea of Soundswitch is that you can have a scripted light show for each individual track. Serato, Engine, Virtual dj etc. all have this full integration. Considering Djay are positioning themselves as the best in software dev this should be a breeze to implement, right? Please contact Soundswitch to start the integration. I will switch to Pro immediately and I figure a lot of other DJ’s will do so as well.
Thanks for the additional feedback @DJ_Reinaldo_Hits and @Miki
Want to chime in here, @Slak_Jaw this is the same situation in the DMX lighting thread (I owe you a video follow up on that topic).
SoundSwitch is entry level, $40 for the cable, and takes DJ performances to another level - be it from laptop, tablet or phone. Lots of crossover too with AI, just like Algoriddim, to help DJs focus on the music to create a full experience.
I don’t really want to switch DJ software just because of time coded DMX lighting. I’ve been using Djay Pro for several years and love every feature it offers. The only missing piece is integration with a DMX lighting platform, specifically SoundSwitch. My controller is fully compatible with Djay Pro, so moving to Serato just for time coded DMX lighting would be difficult. Could the development team consider adding this feature to Djay Pro and see how the community responds? With Djay Pro’s advanced beat grid functionality, the lighting experience could be absolutely amazing!
Thanks for the additional feedback @navira
Hello everyone! Jump over to this thread and vote to help Soundswitch integration become a reality.
Ableton only autoloops according to the bpm of the song
Many months and many years later and still no integration of soundswitch.. Are you guys pushing everyone away to serato who now also has the apple music integration ?
Hi @SC007, welcome to the Community! Thanks for the feedback. We don’t have any news to share regarding this suggestion, but I will pass your comments onto our dev team.
In the meantime, please vote at the top left of this page. Thanks!
I’m joining the queue of requests here. I’m a wedding DJ and clients are starting to ask for customized light shows, which is why I’m slowly and reluctantly leaving djay. Let’s be honest: your software started out as an iPad toy, but now it’s a beast that’s flattening the competition to the point that many pros are switching to djay. The nature of your program is perfect for open-format DJs, thanks to the fantastic Fluid Beatgrid and the quality of the stems, but today, SoundSwitch integration is mandatory for many professionals
Thanks for the detailed feedback @SIMSU_84. I’ve shared it with our devs.
I use DJ Pro because it is very user-friendly and have been using it for way over 2 years. I do not like Serato due to all the update problems. My back up DJ software is Rekorbox. I don’t use that a lot. I am looking for a great program to intergrate with Dj pro AI and would love to get the Soundswitch for the lighting purposes since my business is growing. SO PLEASE!!! Intergrate soundswitch with this DJ PRO AI, PLEASE for a growing DJ and others like myself.
Thank you.
Hi @DJBP, welcome to the Community! Thanks for the feedback. Please don’t forget to vote at the top left of this page. Thanks!
I confirm this.
I am now playing with Soundswitch, and I confirm Ableton Link is not a solution.
Ableton Link does nothing else than passing the BPM info.
While Soundswitch needs :
- BPM info
- Beatgrid
- Exact place in the song
- Volume Intensity, Crossfaders and Upfaders position
- Attention point : there is one thing Algoriddim will have to pay special attention too : passing the virtual position of the crossfader in Automix mode
- Access to Djay Pro playlists (to script lightshows per Song in Soundswitch).
- Name of the song being played
I also confirm this should be relatively light work for Algoriddim (without trying to minimize dev team work), as the data set to transfer in low, and Soundswitch is totally in slave mode vs Djay Pro.
I just mean again this is High Reward / Low cost development.
It is not even specific to Soundwitch.
Once the work is done in Djay Pro, Djay Pro potentially gives access to all lighting software.
It is all about (and only about) feeding the OS2L (Open Sound to Light) protocol.
More about OS2L (see screenshot below) :
(@Slak_Jaw : As you see, this is all standard stuff - So, kind of “Mandatory for Djay Pro”, imho, and not specific to Soundswitch in particular : Must Have).
As competition now have Streaming Services too (one of the advantages of Djay Pro), this (Interface to lighting software) is an area Algoriddim cannot drop the ball on in order to stay ahead, imho.
As you see (again), Djay Pro is the one missing in the list below.
Additionally,
Everytime I look at a Soundswich videos (demos, tutorials), I will see comments like these
.
So, the comments are about Soundswitch, but many are requesting this Djay Pro integration, as you see.
I am sharing the source video below, but this is just an example out of many, with this type of reference to Djay Pro in the comment section.
Thanks for the additional feedback @Davidv100. I will share this with our devs.
