Hi guys, I have attached onedrive links below to two videos. The first one is from an iPad that shows an Automix starting with “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” on deck 1 and “Happy” queued up on deck 2 with “The Next Episode” due to follow up after “Happy”.
Now if I wanted to react to the crowd and think that it’s best to have “Family Affair” play after “Let Me Blow Ya Mind”, I can drag that above “Happy” in the “Up Next” section and it queues it up on deck 2 and “Happy” will then play after “Family Affair” and then “The Next Episode” after “Happy”. This is great and I love it!
How do I do this on MacOS??? If I try this on my MacBook, it doesn’t work. If I drag “family affair” to the top of the automix list, “Happy” will still be on deck 2. If I drag “family affair” to deck 2 then it overwrites “Happy” and “Happy” is just gone from my Automix list. The “up next” functionality is missing from the MacOS version. Please see the videos below
Yes, it’s such a small thing to fix and I really wish they would add it to the MacOS version (which should be the most complete version of the software). It would solve such a big problem for my particular use case
Thanks for the suggestion. I have forwarded this to the dev team for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue Vote button at the top left so we can gauge user demand for this feature. Thanks!
Great thanks, it’s such a clutch feature for certain use cases. I know most probably wont need it, but for my workflow it’s really necessary. Plus it’s already implemented in your iPad version so bringing the feature to the MacOS version hopefully should be quite easy for the dev team.
The iPad version has this feature but it’s missing from the MacOS version (which should be the most comprehensive version). I consider this a bug as there seems to be no way to change the next up track on automix without overwriting the next queued song which is definitely unintended behaviour.
Please see my previous post linked above for video examples and I hope this is fixed in an update soon as the problem has existed for a long time now.
Hi @Peter2022, I have reopened the previous topic and merged your new one with it. In the future, please send me a DM and I can reopen any automatically closed topics. Thanks!
Hi @Peter2022, the Automix queue has a bit of a different workflow on Mac compared to iPad:
On iPad, we show the queued song in the Automix list as up next. Further we allow re-ordering the list by dragging and dropping tracks up and down. Therefore it is possible to drag and drop a track over the track that is already loaded onto the inactive deck and shown as “up next”. This results in loading the new track onto the inactive deck.
On mac, we don’t show the track on the inactive deck in the list anymore; therefore you can re-order the list but not the song which is up next. If you’d like to play a different track as the next track, you have to load it directly into the deck by dragging and dropping it there from the Automix queue (or any other source).
yes exactly, can you please add the up next feature to the automix queue on Mac.
There’s lots of occasions where I may receive a request or am reading the floor and decide to put a different song next in the inactive deck but don’t want to remove the song that was already in that deck from the automix queue. On iPad it’s as easy as dragging the new song above the song listed in “up next”. The new song plays after the current one and then my automix continues uninterrupted. On Mac, if I drag the new song to the deck, it deletes the currently loaded song from the automix queue. This means I have to search for that song again and add it back in. Also if the new song was already in the automix queue, it leaves a duplicate of the song in the list which needs to be deleted manually. If I have to do this several times in one set, it can start to become very tedious and can lead to errors such as playing the same song twice.
If you guys could please match the behaviour of the iPad version on the Mac version it would solve so many of these issues and you have the logic and code for it already so hopefully it isn’t a big fix.
Got it! Thanks for the additional info. I’ve passed this onto the dev team and they will investigate this further. Thanks for continuing to push this idea.
I came here to post about this “bug” but then when I searched i found this topic, so I upvoted.
The ipad automix list management is very handy. Personally i love the feature whereby, I can delete the “next track” AND that’s the same song on the imactive deck (very handy!)
I wish they haul over that functionality onto the mac!
