You should try VirtualDJ
Hi tnx for the reply… i’ve already looked into that but its expensive to buy and also per month Djay pro is cheaper and does the job. Just a shame it’s out for almost 4 months and still no support. Virtual Dj looks the best other option instead of Rekordbox or Serato So I’ll give it some time because I really enjoy using it
This is why some things are worth paying for! The VDJ devs take part in their forum, and any bugs get fixed extremely quickly (in hours sometimes).
VDJ has so many great qualities. I just love djay on my iPad.
Exactly,
If VDJ, Serato or Reckordbox ever make a quality IOS app, I would try it.
I’ve never been a laptop dj and went from vinyl straight to iPad for digital, never went the USB route either.
I’ve just tried VDJ because I can try the pro version for free for one month and I must say it’s very good!! The DDJ-GRV6 works flawlessly! So I’m gonna keep using this until the end of next month and hopefully the release it by then and then I will see what i do pay one time for VDJ or keep paying for a year with Djay pro… but indeed I use the iOS app much in the summer when connected to my FLX-4 that works so great so my favor still is with Djay pro and i know they will add at sometime. But for now I’m happy using VDJ!
I’ve thought about this too, I think it’s pretty poor that there’s still no word of support for the GRV6.
I asked Algoriddim when they will support GRV6 and this is was the answer:
"Hello Christian,
Thank you for contacting the Algoriddim support team.
While I cannot talk about future plans, I have shared your request with our engineering team and will let you know of any updates. "
Hi @Alastair_Blair and @Cristian_Matei, welcome to the Community! Thanks for expressing your interest in adding support for the GRV6. If you haven’t already, please cast your vote at the top left of this page.
The dev team is well aware of the community interest as well. In general, Algoriddim does not share timelines or roadmaps for djay development. Essentially, new features are only announced when they are completely ready are released in a djay update. Please refer to the attached discussion for further details on how the current voting system works in relation to hardware. Thanks! Update to Our Voting System Guidelines [DJ Hardware]
@Slak_Jaw I need some guidance on MIDI mapping a couple of functions in Djay:
- FX Controls:
I’d like to map the FX controls similarly to how they function in Rekordbox/Serato. Specifically, I want to be able to select which deck the FX applies to with the deck selection button but the effect should only activate when I press the FX (On/OFF) button rather than being applied immediately upon selection.
- Jog Wheels (Nudging/Pitch Bend):
I have successfully mapped scratching to the jog wheel, but I haven’t been able to map nudging (pitch bending) for beatmatching. When I attempt to map it, the jog wheel defaults to scratching instead. Is there a way to separate these functions so I can use the jog wheel for both?
Hi @DJ_NARKOTX,
-
You cannot assign FX to decks in djay like you can in Rekordbox/Serato. Basically, in djay you have one FX engine for Deck A and one for Deck B. They are separate.

EDIT: in case you read this yesterday, I have updated it today when I had access to a controller to confirm. When mapping the jogwheels, you need to map 2 functions: “Scratch” and “Scratch Mode”.
a. Scratch is mapped to the rotation of the jogwheel and the Type>Rotarty
b. Scratch Mode is mapped to touching to top of the jogwheel without rotating it. The Type>Button. See below and let me know if that helps.
Hi, could you share your mapping, please? I abandoned mine a month ago and haven’t had time to look into it. Thanks!
Still nothing with this, it’s wild to me how long this is taking.
Very interested in switching software once there’s support for the GRV6. It looks like this controller was made for djay pro and could make it a pseudo all-in-one controller with an iPad/iPhone
This whole thing feels very strange to me. Djay Pro is a really good software, and the fact that six months have passed without support for a Pioneer (or AlphaTheta) controller doesn’t seem up to the standard I had of this company… I don’t know what to think.
Frankly, it’s ridiculous.
If this controller was made by a Chinese company that is not well known in the industry, I could understand why it was left unattended, but it is made by a company that is not well known in the industry, and it is the first item on a step up from an entry-level device.
I don’t think it is possible for such a product to be left without official support for four months. I understand the need to fix bugs, add functions, and maintain compatibility with existing controllers, but isn’t it somewhat disrespectful to the users to leave something that has the potential to attract so many users so long unattended?
(I am not an English speaker so I use translations.)
Well the DDJ-GRV6 is actually designed specifically for Rekordbox but is also compatible with Serato, both of which have branding on the product and are free to use with the device.
Logically then, most buyers would purchase based on what software it already supports.
It really isn’t “ridiculous” or strange to use the software that supports it.
It does seem a decent fit for djay pro.
Hi @EichiEmu and @Santi_Gil, thanks for the additional feedback. I spoke with our hardware team regarding this. Because this controller has some unique hardware features compared to standard controllers, it actually requires various internal adjustments to be made to djay before it can be properly implemented. The team is working on this and we hope to have some good news to share soon. Thanks!
There we go. Algoriddim on the march once again.
