YOUR QUESTION:

  1. Is it safe to update apple devices to the new OS’s out today from a Djay point of view? Is it compatible or should users wait?

I had a lot of issues with iOS 27 because of the new CPU scheduling, so definitely don’t update yet. I’m kind of expecting a big update any moment

come next Friday, I’ll have no choice with the new phone, I guess it wouldn’t be my djay daily driver though.

If you have an important gig coming up, I would hold off for a while until we have an official announcement.

In the early Ios27 betas I’ve had some weird looping issues in automix but with the last few betas I haven’t had any issues at all.

I’m using an iPhone 16 pro and a m1 iPad 11 pro.

Thanks for sharing @eyeseeyou01.

Our team has done extensive testing with the latest OS 27 releases and everything seems good. However, they are still verifying a few details. So, if you have an important gig coming up, I recommend that you hold off for a while until I have official news from the team. Thanks!

I think yes, it’s safe.

YOUR QUESTION:

I wasn’t thinking and updated my iPad and phone to the newest iOS and iPadOS 27 bad habit but nbd these are just backups for djay. Djay is able to be controlled by the platters and crossfaders BUT, it’s not recognizing the one mkII as an external device and sound is only coming out the iPhone and iPad. I’m assuming they’re just not compatible atm? Just a heads up lol

Thanks for sharing @jmoak311. I’ve merged your topic with this existing one.

Hi again @jmoak311, our engineering team just tried to reproduce this with a similar setup on iPadOS 27 and everything is working as expected.

  1. Can you please confirm that you have the Deck 1 and Deck 2 Source toggles set to the USB port you are connected to?
  2. If that doesn’t work, can you please try switching to the other USB port and Source toggles?
  3. If that doesn’t work either please try a different USB cable.
  4. Can you confirm that you are running the official iOS 27.0 release and not a beta version of 27?

Definitely the right iPadOS. I was able to get it working right before bed, although it was inconsistent, and I wasn’t sure exactly what I did differently when it did connect. I swapped out USB cables, toggled back-and-forth between source A and B, and at different times I got both of them to connect with the original USB c Chroma cables. When I have more time I’ll figure it lol.

oddly enough, at my event Saturday, my left platter wasn’t responding (Rane one mkII with MacBook Pro M2 Max, no software update). I swapped usb c chroma cables, toggled back and forth from source a to b with the opposite cable. Restarted the Rane one mkII and mbp. Nothing happened. Then after going back to the original cable it connected and worked fine all night. All of my cables are USB c chroma cables, maybe two years old. Idk maybe it’s just time for new cables. At first glance the issues might not seem related since one was iPad and the other MacBook, but I have two devices on two different Rane one mkII’s having what appears to be an issue connecting. I’m definitely not blaming dj, but it sounds like it’s a “me” issue lol.

Thanks for the additional info and screenshot @jmoak311. Hmmm… this does sound more like a hardware issue than a software issue. Especially since you’re having similar issues on your Mac running an older OS. Maybe a grounding issue. Are you using a high-quality surge protector/powerbar and have you tried connecting to a different outlet separate from your PA or sound system?

I have a furman power condition with the built in current and voltage reader. I was at an outdoor beach wedding under a tent on Saturday. My first thought was also grounding and perhaps that was it. They ran me an extension cord. It didn’t feel professional lol. Also, I did recently move, perhaps the wall outlets are having issues as well. But definitely sounds like a me issue.

Okay, thanks for the additional background info.

With today’s update, is there confirmation of compatibility as yet with Apple’s new OS’?

I have a MacBook Air with M2 chip. I waited for the new update from algoriddim before I updated to Os 27. After everything is updated I have lost my Jogwheel display on my FLX10. It just say no audio driver like when I´m playing with iPad or iPhone.

Edit: I just opened the DDJFLX10 setting utility on my Mac. And the Jog Wheel display com back.

Hi @Emil, welcome to the Community! Thanks for the edit/follow up. Glad to hear that opening the setting utility solved your issue.

Hi @Leigh_Brown, yes, compatibility with macOS 27, iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 is confirmed.

Just touching base. The iPad is working. However, upon first launching of the app and then connecting the controller and turning it on, the iPad plays from the iPad speakers. I then have to restart the app for it to connect through the Rane one mkII and play through my ekx speakers. Not the end of the world, but it may make some of us panick lol.
