Audio device issue. Main output - No device found.

Hi All - Recently started having an audio issue with Djay Pro on Windows 11. - Under the main output on audio devices, I just get “No device found” & am unable to select an audio output.

No issues at all on any of the other outputs - Pre-cueing & Booth both work fine and I can select the correct output devices from the drop down. Just on the main output, I am completely unable to select anything & therefore cant get anything to play out of my main speakers.

I can sort of “Hack” it to work by selecting my preferred audio output on the booth output, but doing this means I have no control over the master gain on my mixer. So not an ideal fix.

I’ve tried a total re-install of the app, ran all Windows updates & updated all audio drivers. Nothing seems to fix it. I’ve been using the software for years with no real issues, but now its pretty much unusable.

Details & screenshot of the issue below - Would appreciate if anyone has any ideas or config changes I could try. I’ve looked on the Forums for something similar but not had much luck.

Cheers.

Hi @P4blo, welcome to the Community! Thanks for the details about the issue and your setup - this is very helpful.

  1. How exactly are you connecting your hardware to your laptop? Any USB adapters or hubs?
  2. Have you tried a different USB cable and different USB port on your laptop?

I have just started to encounter this same issue.
Using a FLX4. Shows as no device found but line1-2. And it is outputting through my FLX4 but not able to change the output to any other device.
Controller connected by directly by USB-C and running Windows 11.

Heya - thanks for the reply. I do use a USB C docking station to plug in my DJ controller & also use a SPDIF optical output, so have spent some time trying these with different cables and hubs etc. to no avail sadly.

Even completely unplugged (Just the Surface by itself) I still get the “No device found” issue under the main output & can’t select anything.

It’s super unusual because under all of the other possible outputs I can select any of my audio devices - So on the pre cue for example, I can set it to output to the SPDIF interface, internal speakers, Mixtrack etc. Its just on that master output, nothing is selectable.

Its so frustrating as it’s been working with no issues for years. But all of a sudden last week it seems to be unusable & I can’t even get to the potential cause.

Hi @P4blo and @P4blo, thanks for the additional info. In the Audio Devices settings do you have any Audio Driver options to choose from?

Having the same issue since the update, and I do not see audio driver settings like you show @Slack_Jaw, but i never did. I was just using my toslink out from my motherboard and it had been working since i found the app, until this update.

Hi @Tek, welcome to the Community! Can you please provide full details about your setup?

Hi @Slak_Jaw - No audio driver options appear at all.

I do have a toslink/SPDIF/Optical interface, similar to @Tek so not sure if it’s related? Mine is s simple USB one though, rather than on the motherboard.

Plugging in and unplugging the toslink adapter seems to make no difference. I have the same issue whether it’s plugged in or not.

Audio Out that is missing is just from the soundcard on my motherboard, which is the digital audio out, which i have been using for months without issue until the update 5 days ago.

You’re welcome @Tek. Thanks for the additional details.

Hi all! I also started facing this issue. I use FLX2 on windows 11 and it’s just exactly as described here. Unable to select audio output, only for main channel but ok for pre-cueing . I detected this issue on Friday, August 1st.
Not sure why! Was it for a firmware update??

Hi @Missael.mape, welcome to the Community! Thanks for the information. Can you please confirm your djay version number?

Djay Pro version: 5.4

Windows version: 24H2

I can confirm this. No audio device is found. It still worked with the last version 5.3.x.

Windows 11 Pro 24H2
DJay 5.4.1

Hi everybody!
I’m also facing the same issue. Under “Audio Device” it says “No device found” but it’s fine for “Pre-Cueing”. I have also tried to reinstall the app, ran all Windows updates and updated all audio drivers. My controller is connected by directly by USB-C and I have also tried different USB cable and ports. I detected this issue on Sunday, August 3rd. It was working fine before that, so I was really baffled when it suddenly didn’t detect any audio device on the main output. I tried the controller on the Djay Pro phone app and it worked fine.
You can see my details about my setup and I have also attached picture below.

Device Model: Lenovo Legion 5 Pro
Version of operating system: Windows 11 (version 24H2)
Version of djay: 5.4
Hardware/controllers used: Pioneer DDJ-FLX4
Hardware Firmware Version: 1.06

Same issue on both Windows 11 and Windows 10 ever since update to 5.4 is it possible to roll back to 5.3? Makes the software unusable unless I’m plugged into my controller.

Hi @swaggysquatch, welcome to the Community! Thanks for the additional info.

Hello everyone!

Our team has identified the issue and is working on a fix that will be released in the upcoming 5.4.2 update.

In the meantime, this is a purely UI bug. You should be able to use the “Reset to Defaults” button at the bottom of the menu to at least get the default Main Output Device.
