  • Device model (e.g. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen): MacBook Pro 2021 14inch
  • Version of operating system (e.g. macOS 14.4.1): 15.6.1
  • Version of djay (e.g. 5.1.2): 5.4.4
  • Hardware/controllers used (e.g. Reloop Mixon 8 Pro): Plx 1000 with Phase Dj and DJM S11

Summary of the issue:
Audio drop, Basically waveform disappeared and no sound was coming out. It happened to me twice and happened on right deck both time but when I instant double same song on left deck, no issue.
I was loving DJAY PRO, this is my 3rd month but with these kind of issues. Hmmm not being rude but I never had these issue with Serato for 10+ years.
Sorry but going back to Serato but will keep Djay pro as back up hoping all these issue will be fixed.

How to reproduce the issue:
I’ve got a video but can’t attached the video here. Please tell me how to attach the video showing issue.

Hi @Djciiva, sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. What Music source (Tidal, Beatport, Local Music, etc.) and Quality setting are you using? Please upload your video to your Dropbox/Google Drive, enable sharing permissions and share a link to the video here. Thanks!

I’ve send you dropbox link and also those files were downloaded from record pool.

Thanks @Djciiva. Thanks for the video. What file format are the files and where are they stored (internal device drive, iCloud, external drive, etc.)?

Hi @Slak_Jaw ,

Files are MP3 and it’s saved in MacBook’s internal drive

Thanks for confirming.

  1. Please make sure that djay has full access rights to the location/folder that contains your local music.
  2. Does this issue also occur without the PLX1000, Phase DJ and DJM S11 connected to your Mac?

Hi,

  1. DJAY PRO have full access to my music folder saved internally in MacBook Pro drive.

  2. I haven’t experienced this issue when I’m not connected to phase Dj and S11.

Thanks for the additional info @Djciiva.

  1. How exactly are you connecting all of the hardware to your Mac?
  2. Are you using any USB Hubs or adapters?
  3. Are you using high quality, shielded USB cables with dual ferrites on either end?
  4. Feel free to share some photos of how you connect everything.
  • How exactly are you connecting all of the hardware to your Mac? USB c direct from mixer to MacBook and Phase Dj directly connected to S11.
  • Are you using any USB Hubs or adapters? No.
  • Are you using high quality, shielded USB cables with dual ferrites on either end? No.
  • Feel free to share some photos of how you connect everything. Simple set up: direct usb c connection from mixer to MacBook and phase Dj to S11 usb hub.

Thanks for the details @Djciiva. Have you tried using a different USB cable? This might seem like an unusual solution, but I’ve seen a lot of strange issues like this solved by changing the USB cable and trying a different USB socket on the Mac.

Hello! It’s been more than a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!

Hi Slak_Jaw,

I know this topic might have been closed but, I would like to report the same issue I have experienced several times and I’m still experiencing while DJing with djay Pro 5.6.4 on macOS Tahoe 26.4.

My setup is as follows:

  • MacBook Pro (2017 model)

  • macOS Tahoe 26.4

  • djay Pro version 5.6.4

  • No controller connected

  • No external hard drive connected

  • Tracks stored locally on my MacBook’s internal drive

  • File format: MP3

Problem experienced:

While mixing, the waveform suddenly disappears in the middle of a track, and at the same time the audio cuts out completely. This happened a few times in one evening.

Because I was not using any controller or external drive, this does not appear to be related to USB connectivity or external storage. The issue happened while DJing directly from the laptop using local MP3 files.

I would like to know:

  1. Has anyone else experienced this on macOS?

  2. Is this a known issue with djay Pro 5.6.4?

  3. Could this be related to macOS Tahoe 26.4 or older Intel MacBook Pro hardware?

  4. Are there any recommended fixes, such as buffer adjustments, re-analysis of tracks, or settings changes?

This issue is concerning because it affects live playback during a mix.

Thank you very much for any advice or support.

Hi @Hans_Mulleur, Thanks for the details about the issue and your setup - this is very helpful. Since this sounds repeatable, can you please capture and share a short screen recording of the issue to help clarify what’s happening? Thanks!

Please see videos attached. Apologies, I might have attached too many.

Thanks for the videos @Hans_Mulleur. This is very helpful. Did you also experience this on older macOS versions or did it just start with macOS 26.4?

I was not able to reproduce this on my M4 MBAir running djay 5.6.4 and macOS 26.4.1. So, I need to pass this onto our engineering team to see if they can reproduce it on an older Intel based Mac. I’ll report back when I have news.

It has happened a few times, but I must say that since updating my macOS, it has been occurring more frequently. I have several events this week and have been preparing for them, so I must admit that this issue has left me considering moving back to Serato DJ Pro. Please see the attached video I took this morning for reference.

Thanks for clarifying @Hans_Mulleur

Hi again @Hans_Mulleur, we checked the Apple Support page and it looks like you 2017 MacBook Pro is not supported for macOS Tahoe 26.4. Can you please downgrade your macOS to an older supported version and confirm if this issue persists? Thanks!

Hi Slaw_Jaw, many thanks for the feedback. I have just checked my MacBook Pro and it is 14” 2021, Apple M1Pro. Apologies for stating that it was a 2017 MacBook Pro.
