Cannot access USB in new OneLibrary feature

Thanks for the info @felipecamus

Same issue for me, I tried with another drive and Djay messed that one up now and seems to of corrupted the files for use in rekordbox also. Please fix ASAP as its messing out USBs

Thanks for the info @Leo_Murphy1, I’ll let the team know.

I also am experiencing a persistent and blocking issue regarding external drive access permissions with djay Pro on my M1 Mac.

System Info:

  • Device: Mac M1
  • OS: macOS 26.1
  • App Version: 5.5.1

The Issue: When I launch djay Pro, it requests access to my external drive where my music library is stored.

  1. Upon the first launch (or after renaming the drive), I can select the drive in the Finder dialog, grant permission, and everything works.
  2. However, after quitting and relaunching the app, djay Pro asks for permission again.
  3. When the Finder dialog pops up to grant access, the external drive icon is visible but greyed out (disabled) and cannot be selected.

It seems like a ā€œStale Security Scoped Bookmarkā€ issue: the OS believes permission is already granted (hence the greyed-out drive), but the app fails to retrieve the existing permission handle upon reboot, entering a deadlock.

Troubleshooting steps already attempted (without success):

I have already tried all the standard and advanced troubleshooting methods:

  1. TCC Reset: Ran tccutil reset SystemPolicyRemovableVolumes and tccutil reset All via Terminal.
  2. Container Reset: Deleted the ~/Library/Containers/com.algoriddim.djay-iphone-free (and related containers) to force a fresh state.
  3. Full Disk Access (Crucial): I manually added djay Pro to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access. Even with Full Disk Access explicitly enabled, the app still prompts for permission and fails to accept the drive.
  4. Renaming the Drive: If I rename the external drive (e.g., from ā€œMusicā€ to ā€œMusic_2ā€), it works for exactly one session. Upon the next restart, the issue returns.

This behavior strongly suggests a bug in how the app handles sandbox permissions on this specific macOS version, as it completely ignores the Full Disk Access entitlement.

same problem but for me but i managed to change the name of the usb and it then worked.

However DONT DO THIS because the songs i then played ended up corrupted. All my hot cues from every

song were deleted.

Luckily i keep a clone of my main USB so using rekordbox i managed to restore the original and it was a fine recovery.

But yeah this bug will mean i can’t risk using my usb on djay pro for a while till i hear it’s fixed

Hello everyone, engineering believes they have identified the issue and they are working on some improvements for an upcoming djay release (likely 5.5.2). Thanks!

Still not working for me…

Can you please be more specific and provide more details @felipecamus?

1TB usbc ssd drive into macboom air M1 with latest Tahoe os, before the update, I renamed the drive and that worked, after the update (5.2.2) I tried to use the drive, but when pressing the Allow Acces button, the drive shows, but when selected, the allow acces is greyed out. (just like before…)

Thanks @felipecamus. What drive format are you using? Have you tried reformatting and renaming again?

Hi, Kingston SXS2000 exFAT. Don’t want to format the drive because I also use it for video editing with projects inside.

Hi @felipecamus, thanks for the additional information. That drive format should be fine. Unfortunately, I don’t have any suggestions other than to reformat the drive and try again.

Works perfectly for me now, thanks for the update!

You’re welcome @Christophroar. Thanks for the follow up.

Works perfectly now, thanks.
