Can't play recently imported tracks

If I drop a new mp3 into my collection while djay pro is already running, it will add it to library, but be unable to analyse or play the track. but if i drop it directly to the deck from finder, it works fine. video attached. if I re-open djay pro, the track will then play - not an ideal solution

  • Device model (2023 macbook pro m2 chip):

  • Hardware/controllers used (flx4 + ddj800):

Hi @jpb83, thanks for the video and details. Can you please confirm that djay has full access to the drive and folders on your Mac where these files are located?

Hi, I assumed it did, but I also went in and manually added DJay to have full disk access. I think it’s working again so far, I’ll let you know if any more issues!

yeah it’s doing it again. exact same behaviour. can confirm djay has full disk access

Hi again @jpb83, I shared this with engineering and they could not reproduce it. It looks like the item in the playlist in My Collection is not pointing to the mp3 file anymore. This is most likely because its location was changed after adding it to the playlist. Can you please confirm if this is the case or not?

Hi, no this is not the case. If I close and re-open djay, the mp3 will then load without issue.

Hi @jpb83, thanks for the info. So this happens every time you add a track from finder to a playlist in My Collection and then load it on a deck? Or was it just with this one file, and now it’s recovered with a new app start?

This happens every time, with every track. The video attached is what happens every time I try to load a track that has been imported since djay was most recently opened. note that if I drag directly from finder to the deck, the track loads. but if I then try to load that exact file from the library, which is only in the library because I just dragged it to the deck, it does not load. this is not an issue with the file being moved or anything like that.

Hi again @jpb83, our engineering team is still not able to reproduce this. Can you please try updating to djay 5.5 and confirm if the issue persists? Thanks!

Hi again @jpb83, based on your video it looks like your files are stored in iCloud Drive. Do you have any files stored on your internal drive and does the issue also occur with those?

hi mate, looks like that’s the issue yeah. need to keep my music within icloud though
