Hi,
I read this post: What does the MIDI Action "Toggle FX Bar" do?
I have the same problem — the Assistant button on my Hercules Inpulse 500 cannot be mapped to “Toggle FX Bar” via MIDI.
I tried the suggested keyboard shortcut CMD+3 to toggle the FX Bar, but that is also not working on my iPad with a Bluetooth Apple keyboard connected.
My setup: djay Pro [5.6.3], iPad [A16], iPadOS [26.3.1].
Is there any working way to toggle the FX panel, either via keyboard shortcut or MIDI mapping?
Thanks in advance!
Hi @rhodoisland, this is not currently possible on iOS.
Hi @Slak_Jaw
Thanks for the reply.
I want to make sure I understand correctly — is the “Toggle FX Bar” MIDI action simply not implemented on iOS, or is it a bug that it does nothing when triggered? The original 2021 post where this was discussed you confirmed you also mapped it and it did nothing, and another staff member (Lukas_E) pointed to CMD+3 as a workaround — which also doesn’t work on iOS with a Bluetooth keyboard.
Since this has been requested since 2021 and CMD+3 works on Mac, is there a plan to implement “Toggle FX Bar” properly on iPadOS in a future update?
It seems like essential functionality, especially for controllers like the Hercules Inpulse 500 that rely on software panel switching.
Hi @rhodoisland, this functionality was remove from iOS as there were some edge case issues. Our engineering team is aware of this, but we have no news or a timeline to share. You will need to enable the FX panel using the onscreen controls. I hope that helps.
