The Serato Crate external app support only show all music files in Serato does not actually show the crates, has anyone else notice this.
Yes, I have experienced the same thing. Hopefully just a bug that will get fixed soon.
Hi @Junior_Pops, I’ve moved your comment to its own topic. I tested this on macOS and all of my Serato Crates are visible as expected. Can you and Bryan please provide complete details about your setup?
Device Model (ex. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
Version of operating system (ex. iOS 17.3.1):
Version of djay (ex. 5.1.3):
I am running Mac OS 15.5 on a M1 MacBook air, my Serato crates is on a external drive.Latest version of DJay app.
Good day, I use a Windows 11 Dell Computer running the latest version of Windows and the updated version of Djay Pro.
I am able to search and find tracks with no problem but the Crates tree structure does not show. I have attached a screenshot for reference,
Thanks
If crates are missing in external apps, try reinstalling the app, checking permissions, or updating the software to restore missing data.
Tried that don’t work.
Thanks for the additional details. @BRYAN_SINGLETON are you also using an external drive or is your Serato library stored on your internal drive?
I reinstall the app and check my permission to the folder, but it still do not work
Hi @Junior_Pops, if you move your Serato Library to your internal drive does it work as expected? Maybe you can test with a small number of crates and files?
I copied over one crate from my external drive to my Serato Library on my internal drive then i configure it again and all the crates from my external drive show up.
Thats a very strange
Okay, thanks for confirming @Junior_Pops. This helps to narrow things down. Let’s see if @BRYAN_SINGLETON also has his Serato library on an external drive…
Yes, I also have my music on an external hard drive.
Thanks for confirming @BRYAN_SINGLETON. This is clearly the cause of the issue. I have passed this onto our engineering team for further review on Monday. In the meantime, if you move your Serato Library to your internal drive, you crates should be shown as expected.
Thanks, I will give that a try and see what happens. I will keep you posted.
Quick question do the IOS version has the ability to read your Serato crates
@Junior_Pops this is only supported on macOS and Windows.
May be its something to look into
I suspect this is an iOS limitation. Plus the other DJ softwares don’t have iOS versions so their libraries wouldn’t be available to read on iOS.
Just wishful thinking
