Yeah I think so @Junior_Pops. If it’s possible, I’m sure the dev team is already looking into it…
Hello @Slak_Jaw, I opened Serato up today a added a few tracks to a crate, came back to Djay Pro, opened it up and the drop down function for the Serato crates was working again. Here is a screen shot for your reference.

Hi again @Junior_Pops and @BRYAN_SINGLETON, I spoke with our engineering team. We do now support Serato libraries on external drives. On Windows it should be picked up automatically, but on macOS there is extra configuration needed.
On macOS you need to right-click on SR Crates node and choose the configure option. A panel should open giving you the option to allow permission for djay to access the external drive.
If you still have problems can you please send a screen shot of what the Configure panel looks like on both macOS and Windows?

I did all what you mention, i choose the external drive and give it permission, it didnt work until i copied one crate from external drive to internal drive serato folder.

- Using a 2TB portable external drive (Not SSD) for all music

Im having issues when I enable Serato App, so Im not gonna bother with this feature till the next update, its messing up my library, luckily I backed up my library file,
Everytime I enable SR App, I dont get my Crate dropdowns, all my tracks show up, and when I try to play any track, DJay Pro freezes untill I force quit.
if I dont enable Serato app everything works fine my tracks are able to be played,
everything else on 5.4 works fine except for the DJ App section.

You’re welcome, I love the new update. I’m sure the next update will address the issues with External Hard Drive access to external apps.

For some reason DJay always had issues with how it access Serato crates on external drive even before this update, it’s always a hit and miss. What i did is to copy a crate from your external drive and past it in crate on your internal drive, I then configure the Serato Crate function, shut down my computer. Restart then open DJay app again , configure again, then the crate structure showed up. Dont know if this process would work for everyone, but you can try it.

Good to here you have a workaround but this shows that its buggy, hopefully it will be fixed on the next update. but thanks for the info Junior_Pops and BRYAN_SINGLETON
this is the problem…
From experience, djay has always had problems loading up massive libraries sitting on external HDD’s. You’re better off altogether by using SSD’s.
I own a 2TB Samsung T7 SSD, and yet, when i try to load serato crates, it takes a few seconds longer to do so…and again when i wonna go back to My Collections, afew seconds more od undue delay (since that library was aready open in the first place b4 i went into SR. Reason to think your external HDD might not have a chance if library is large.
Why not rely solely on your 1TB internal drive?

@eecy_cee, if you unmount the drive and launch djay does the SR source stop freezing djay?
