I recently did a gig with another DJ who was putting business cards out onto the tables with a QR code on the back that allowed guests to request a song. He also had a screen with the QR code and put up some posters.
Guests could request a song straight into an app - or into his DJ software interface. Being able to integrate that into the queue would be incredible (and then use the filters like genre, BPM, key, year, etc).
There’s fotify and djFY sites that offer that service (free ins some intances), unless he was using virtualdj which has it inbuilt for paid up users

Adding another option to the ones mentioned above (djFY, VirtualDJ’s paid tier, streaming playlists) — I built AuxControl (auxcontrol.live). Guests scan a QR code, no app download, and vote on what plays next from their phones rather than just submitting a raw request — so the crowd filters out the bad picks for you instead of you
having to.
Runs two ways: jukebox mode, where you’re still DJing off your own rig and it just deep-links you to whichever track won the vote; or Apple Music mode, the one worth trying today — turn it on and it runs itself, full tracks play automatically as the crowd votes, though you still control playback and can skip anything that gets voted up. Spotify’s built too but currently gated behind their app review.
Doesn’t do the genre/BPM/key/year filtering you were asking about, though — it’s search-and-vote, not a filtered queue.
