It looks like the DDJ1000 has received additional compatibility and screens support with the latest update, while its two-channel counterpart, the DDJ-800 has not. This saddens me because I only mix with two channels and I don’t have the desk space for a DDJ 1000 and I don’t like the DDJ-FLX10 (which is also overpriced). DJAY Pro is my DJ software of choice and it makes DJ’ing fun again, I pay for it but I must also keep a subscription to VirtualDJ because of the screens, FX, and Soundswitch support.
Beat FX is already supported (since a few versions ago).
Voted for screens though. Nothing like the DDJ-800 available new at the moment. Such a great size/format/quality combination. Love mine.
Thanks for the suggestion and making a new topic for this @Kevin_Silas. I’ve shared this with the dev team for consideration. Thanks again!
This image is of how it should look but my Beat FX Screen only says “Pioneer DJ” when connected to Djay. Are my settings incorrect? How do I map the FX knob and screen to the controller?
Hi @Kevin_Silas, I don’t have access to this hardware to confirm, but you will likely need to use the (built-in) MIDI mapping for this to work. Also make sure you are running the latest firmware from Pioneer DJ.
Maybe I should have been clearer. I would like the small screen on the controller to correspond with the FX like it does with other DJ software.
Ah… I see! Thanks for clarifying.
No problem. In low light spaces, its hard to see the small writing around the knob (probably why they added the little display).
Makes sense @Kevin_Silas
Let me vote this topic, though I sold mine
All the FX knobs are mapped by default - it’s just the screen that isn’t.
In the latest update for the DDJ-1000 (which apparently includes screen support), do we know if that includes the little FX screen?
Hi @Belford_Roxo, the small FX screen on the DDJ-1000 is supported.
This is a good idea. In my country, people love the DDJ RR and DDJ 800 for their compact size, build quality, and good sound. They will continue to use them for 7 to 10 years. There are also people who have not yet unpacked the DDJ SR or DDJ SX. I play with the DDJ 800 controller. This is in Russia.
Thanks for the additional input @DJ_Bassdex
I really need this support because I think the DDJ800 is the best two-rail controller currently available, and it has a very nice appearance. My friends also like this controller. But, as you know, Pioneer’s software is very difficult to use.
Thanks for the feedback @guluqiang0. Please don’t forget to vote using the blue Vote button at the top left of this page. Thanks!
