how you qualify the sound between SDJ vs Djay Pro in club enviroment bro ? i’m curious. In my experience Djay Pro sound a little bit less energic than SDJ
I guess this is all about the gain-structure, and most importantly, the soundcard you’re using. In my experience 999 out of 1000 times, when people feel “product A” sounds better, it’s a volume difference. Louder sounds better. This is why I always prefer to disable all compressors, limiters, expanders etc. and get some decent headroom so sound is not distorting or clipping, or being limited/compressed, and then use a soundcard with a proper output volume and impedance (I use NI Traktor Audio 6 for this, and have DJay pro set to -6dB headroom), and this gives me good output to work with on the DJ mixer channel.
You could try to play around with different EQ settings maybe, but when comparing you need to set everything to neutral/zero, and have no clipping or redlining, good headroom, and identical output volume.

My “journey” was when i transitioned from Traktor 2.x on an old macbook pro to DJay Pro on a new Macbook Air M4. On my old system I was using iTunes as my central library manager, and then imported my playlists into Traktor, and into rekordbox for USB sticks for the CDJs. This worked well for me.
When moving over to the new system, I was assuming Apple Music didn’t allow me to use it as I was using iTunes (i know now it can be done) and moved to rekordbox as my main library manager (as I need to create Rekordbox USB sticks anyway), and then import/sync RB into DJay Pro.
But I hate Rekordbox, and I love the flexible beatgrids of DJay Pro. Still DJay Pro is not there to act as a central library management imho, but it’s close. It would be ideal to have only DJay pro, and then export from there to RB USB sticks, but OneLibrary is not available (yet) on most CDJ’s I play with in venues.
In the end I had to use LexiconDJ to migrate my library and get everything properly synced and indexed. It’s a big hassle tbh.
OneLibrary is just a renamed version of their existing Device Library Plus, and the older CDJs use Device Library.
What should ideally be happening when exporting is that two databases are created. Device Library Plus (aka OneLibrary) and plain old Device Library, to ensure the exported data is compatible with both systems.
Some exports already do this i.e. VirtualDJ.

I’m still struggling with keeping everything in sync in an easy way. I just found out that it seems that DJay Pro’s own “collection” format seems to automatically sync it’s info with the info I edit in iTunes/AppleMusic. I assume this is because iTunes stores the basic mp3 tag info in the mp3 file?
If Algoriddim would add a few “basic” improvements to their music-management they would be able to claim a lot of the DJ market just for this feature. F.e. I’m now missing the fact that when I enter an artist name it doesn’t do a lookup in an artists table from the other tracks, like iTunes does. Adding these kind of small QoL features really would help.
djay pro is warmer , and louder (depends on how you set the autogain, im on +3db)
How would you describe/define “warmer”? In what kind of configuration? I’m interested in understanding how you tested this?
Look im no club soundsystem specialist, the last time im on serato its still called scratch live and im using rane sl3 , im on rekordbox for a long time since they introduce performance mode introduce dvs
What i mean by warmer is when im playing before or after a serato DJ , djay felt like it had more bass, maybe its just my feeling , i never did any technical comparision , i just use it dally with no issue
Its clear, loud and punchy and no problem with club sound system

I would like an export setting in the configuration, where you could select one library, device library and engine. When exporting djay creates the selected systems in one go. Then you could use your usb in most standalone systems
That probably a step closer after yesterday sound switch announcement
